Car history: |
1) Numbers matching 1970 LT1 coupe. I have owned this car for 19 years, but my neck says that I can't work on it anymore and the lousy Corpus Christi roads say that I cannot drive it anymore. So it is time for someone else to finish it instead of letting it rot in the garage. Complete list of non-NCRS correct parts: Door panels are deluxe and stained bright blue instead of the correct standard bright blue panels. Smog pump and plumbing is missing. Transistor ignition module is inoperative and removed. Ignition module and harness are in a box. Distributor is from a 350/350 engine instead of the transistor ignition distributor. Distributor has been modified by installing an aftermarket magnetic pick-up instead of using stock points. Ignition coil is aftermarket. Original water pump is restored but not installed. Battery is Optima instead of AC Delco. Tires are modern Pirelli P215/75R15. Air filter, oil filter, spark plugs and light bulbs are modern replacements. Modern A/C Delco shocks not painted blue for maximum points. All other parts have correct part numbers and date codes where applicable. Both rear trailing arm assemblies have been replaced with complete units from Bair's.
Issues: Original Bridgehampton Blue paint oversprayed with black. Numerous stress cracks and chips in paint. Hood gaps are not symmetrical. Nose strap rivet rust is present above driver's side headlight. Fiberglass repair to lower driver's side nose, supposedly from being driven off the side of a ramp. Five port washer pump is inoperative. Pitting on chrome bumpers and windshield. Driver's side door ajar switch is shorted. Driver's side interior door pull handle is not secured. Wiper control switch knob is missing. Pinhole leak in vacuum system causing passenger side headlight to open above 130 mph. Includes tank sticker, date coded reproduction windshield, spare rear glass, spare bumpers, lots of spare trim pieces, 2 extra carburetors (1 4555 with wrong baseplate and date code, 1 3310 for use when the correct 4555 is off for rebuild) AIM assembly manual and all parts removed from the car over the years. For sale on vette finders at $35,000 in Corpus Christi, TX (same owner) on August 11, 2017. Axle ratio is 3.70:1. motor suffix code is V0105CTU. Seen on 1970corvetteregistry.org, on July 12, 2010. Colors from the tank sticker. December 31, 2009. |
