Car history: |
1968 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible Roadster, Numbers Matching L75 327 / 300 Horse Turbo Hydra-Matic. Same owner Since 1973, 44 years of ownership - History Documented with original California pink slip & CA Black plate. Factory hard top, soft top, power windows, California emissions & AM/Radio. Original Silverstone Silver with matching color hardtop / Black soft top & Black standard interior & Redlines. Husband & wife purchased this 68' Corvette from the local newspaper In Los Angeles in 73'. Repainted once to a dark gray & added the center lines. The husband passed away & the wife never let go of his car due to sentimental reasons. It was parked out in front of their home & just sat. Recently, came to the conclusion - it was time for someone to bring it back to its formal glory. Complete car, remains very original other then the paint. Pretty darn straight for its age, never to been taken apart or restored. All the interior is original, missing the headliner to the hardtop & missing the back to the passenger seat. All knobs and switches are in place. Original engine, air cleaner, valve covers & California emissions. Looks like the engine has never been out of the car. Numbers Matching 327/300 (18S420933 V05I6HO). Running & Driving - Brakes & Shifts. Engine sounds good, drove it around the blocks a few times. Rear freeze plug is leaking water. Overall, a great California Candidate for a restoration. Complete car that needs total restoration (paint/interior/drivetrain). Impossible to find any Corvette that is in this shape that hasn't already been restored or taken apart before. Remains original California history & most important, original drivetrain. Sold for $12,050 on February 1, 2017. |
