The most important design note is that this was the final year for the desirable chrome bumpers. This example comes from an estate and was started as an upgrade project but unfinished. The body is finished in Ontario orange over a well preserved saddle vinyl interior, and it has a 4 speed transmission as well as air conditioning. The trim and emblems were all removed, but otherwise it stills maintains a stock look. It has a good looking set of aluminum after-market wheels, and a fresh set of Goodrich radial tires. What we were told about this car, is that under the hood, a later model TPI Corvette engine was installed, along with the upgraded AC compressor, and other items that bolt to that newer engine. The car ran on its own power when last stored, over a year ago, however we did not make any attempt to start it. We were also able to see that there was new steering rack that has been installed, an upgraded tranverse rear leaf spring was put in, and a complete new dual exhaust system. The car sits nice and level, and has a good general appearance. With a little TLC, this Corvette can be put back in the fast lane, with a much stronger engine than the one it was born with.
