Car history:
2) Interesting one-year-only paint, a 400ci V8 heart, and an affordable price make this 1970 Chevrolet Corvette convertible both distinctive and obtainable. Corvette Bronze only belongs on 1970 Stingrays. Available for the final year, it has a connection to the copper colored Corvettes of later generations, but this one just seems to be a bit darker and bolder there's even a big block hood added for extra distinction. It's an intimidating presence, which is exactly what you want on a classic Vette. These earlier C3s are also for the brightwork lovers, with the thin bumpers, bright grille, and rocker panels coming together to add to this vintage shine package. And of course, no classic Chevy sports car looks complete without the iconic Rally wheels. The black folding roof coordinates with the car color so well, that you're going to be happy to see beneath it is an interior that's just as deep and dark. But at first glance you'll notice something very distinctive. The bucket seats have the correct high-back appearance and pattern, but they have been covered in comfortable cloth instead of the standard vinyl or leather. So you keep the muscle car friendly color, but you don't have to worry about wearing shorts when hopping in on a hot day and frying your legs. The rich darkness of the seats, door panels, and carpeting allow the silver accents to pop on everything from three-spoke steering wheel to the gearshift. For the driver, the essential gauges are in front of you with a full auxiliary readout package prominently to the side. And while you favorite cool breezes will be generated by the wind whipping through the cabin at speed, there is factory air conditioning, too.
The standard Corvette small block was the 350, but this one gets a healthy upgrade in displacement to a 400 cubic-inch unit. Not only is it a larger V8, but also it has been treated to the right kind of maintenance. You can tell by just at looking in the engine bay and spotting components like the new alternator, but really you just feel the quality as this Stingray fires to life with the kind of eagerness that makes you want to take it out every sunny day. And that's exactly how to view this classic droptop. After all, it has the convenience of a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and four-wheel disc brakes. So when you feel the fully independent sports suspension on your favorite backroad, and hear the roar of the Flowmaster dual exhaust, you'll know this 'Vette was a wise decision.
Color, stature, and affordability you never needed any more reasons to desire a classic C3 convertible, but now you know why this is the one you must have. BiN $27,995 (Ended) on February 11, 2017.
1) 2 owner 1970 corvette convertible. The second owner has had it from 1995 to the present. It has always been meticulously maintained and garage kept. In 2001 it had new paint (the original color) and interior. It has recently gotten a new convertible top, brakes (stainless steel calipers), and tires. It has power steering, brakes and air conditioning. The small block engine runs great. It has a 400 turbo transmission and 3.73 positraction rear end. This is not some thrown together restoration, but a very solid, tight original that has been well maiand cared for its entire life. Drive it anywhere. Everything works and the only thing missing is the front bumper guards. 66,000 miles. May 24, 2010.
