This hot rod Corvette is no longer powered by the stock 350, in its place is a massive 454 CID Big Block V8 engine. The 454 has been bored .060 over and features an Eagle crank and rods, SRP pistons, a hydraulic cam, HRS aluminum heads, double roller timing chain, a Quick Fuel carburetor, aluminum/alloy valve covers and intake, and a Moroso oil pan. An aluminum radiator helps keep this monster running cool on hot summer days. Headers flow from the HRS heads to the full exhaust with the option of electric cutouts for a truly jaw-rattling sound. A TH-350 automatic transmission, with a custom gated shifter, transfers the power to the pavement.
The metallic black exterior paint shines beautifully and provides a menacing look to this hot rod Corvette. The black leather interior features a custom console that quickly removes for easy access if need be. New carpet and door panels help make this interior new again as well. The odometer reads 50,546, although the actual mileage is unknown, just over 300 miles have been put on the car since the build was complete. Options for this 1980 Chevrolet Corvette include Leather Interior, Seat Belts, T-Tops, Power Windows, Tilt/Telescopic Wheel, Radial tires, and Aluminum/Alloy Wheels. The late C3 Corvette is not known to be a high horsepower car, so when you pull up to the stop light in this Big Block powered 1980 Corvette you are a bit of a sleeper. You can let your secret be known by throwing a switch and engaging the cutouts, or you can choose to be somewhat of a silent assassin until the light turns green of course. |
