History: A numbers matching pedigree. A special order non-tagged car through the president of Chevrolet for the Fisher Body family. I have owned the car for 12 years and am the 4rth owner with contact information for the previous three owners verifying authenticity. It was the first '68 corvette delivered in Detroit in 1968. Options: Power steering, power brakes, power windows, L71 motor, international blue paint, special order saddle leather interior, (one of two produced that year), AM/FM radio and telescoping steering wheel. Maintenance History: The engine and the trans were professionally rebuilt 8 years ago with only 1500 miles on the rebuild. The main engine wiring harness, vacuum lines, gas tank, tires, muffler, power steering pump, radiator, water pump, windshield wiper relay, headlight door vacuum boots and various other parts have been replaced. Flaws: the paint is cracked, the driver's seat stitching is coming undone, and the carpet is original as well. The frame behind the driver's door is rusted although the rest of the frame is in good shape. The car has been garage and climate kept stopping any additional rust. Misc.: Three new holley carbs were installed with the rebuild. Two of the three correct dated carbs are in possession. The tank sheet was rotted. A more well preserved tank sheet should be under the carpeting in the hatch area. A complete exhaust system and an additional water pump go with the car as well as a light bulb kit. The guages, headlight doors, windsheild wipers and power windows work just fine. This car is an excellent restoration project with a pedigree history and special order options. 1.
