| A true collectors piece this numbers matching 1968 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible with its 327 ci 350 HP V8 engine, close ratio 4 speed transmission and rare factory air is not only beautiful, but also an absolute blast to drive! Bought new in Texas, its original owner had the car for 20 years and it has only had two owners since. Books, records, receipts, notes and more pictured below accompany this car as part of its history, a tribute to the pride in ownership it has enjoyed. The interior of this '68 Vette is original and in outstanding condition including the seats, dash, carpet, door panels and center console; the original style cloth top is brand new with new rubber moldings. Repainted by its second owner the factory Silverstone Silver paint has a brilliant shine and great depth of color, an excellent color simply setting off the chrome bumpers and black soft top to perfection. All of its chrome accents including the optional luggage rack, bumpers and factory badges are in excellent shape as are the Goodyear Eagle raised white letter tires. The factory 327 350 HP (L79) engine runs strong and is very responsive, pure muscle car enjoyment! The sound is the Heartbeat of America just as you would expect. It is equipped with the factory close ratio 4 speed transmission, 4 bbl carburetor, 3:70 posi traction rear end, factory air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, power windows and factory tinted glass. The miles are correct with the 5 digit odometer having rolled over once. This 1968 Chevrolet Corvette idles, runs, shifts and stops excellent with no signs of any previous problems or damage whatsoever. An older paint restoration the condition of this car is a strong 8 on a scale of 1-10. Its exterior is truly in exceptional condition with only a couple of things to note: a slight crack in fiberglass at the edge of the right front wheel lip and a bit of touched up black paint in one of the vents on the drivers side, nothing that takes away from the overall outstanding condition of this Corvette. The undercarriage is in excellent condition including the floor pans and door sills, all of the glass is good also. 39,644 miles. April 29, 2008. |
