| Car history: |
1) Engine and Transmission: Very original numbers matching 454 with 425 Horsepower. The engine runs strong, no knocking, no smoking, no pings, no overheating. Just a good solid engine. Engine and tranny start, run and drive as they should. Shifts into all gears properly. No surprises. Has lots of power and fast pickup. As previously mentioned both were rebuilt during the frame off years ago. Paint and Body: The body is in good shape and the paint has lots of shine with no spider cracking or paint peeling. Does have some areas that have imperfections if you look very close but nothing major. I have included an additional 185 pictures that show it in very close detail. The pictures do it more justice! The car is painted in GM RED with black interior. Body is very straight. The hood and doors open and close as they should excellent and body lines and gaps are even as can be seen in pics. The chrome moldings and bumpers are excellent. Everything is present and works as it should. All chrome moldings, bumpers and lights are excellent. IE the frame off. Doors open and close excellent. Excellent fitment. Lights and Electrical: Headlights, brake lights, tail lights, turn signals, door ajar light, Front headlights go up and down all work!. Speedometer, RPM Guage do not, Oil Pressure Guage, Alt Meter Guage, Temp Guage, Fuel Guage All Work! The Horn Works does not work! Radio works and Wipers has brand new motor! Interior: The car has been upgraded with brand new redone seats and custom corvette logo carpets. The interior is in great shape except for the dashboard which may need a new dashpad has a few blemishes as seen in pics. The interior is 100 complete and in all around great shape. Has custom red lights inside speaker panels which look cool at night. All interior lights work. All in all very nice complete black interior. Carpet is in very good shape. Glass: All glass is present and in good condition. Both manual windows go up and down just fine. Chassis, Suspension, Brakes: The car is equipped with power steering and power brakes which work great. The tires have a very good amount of tread on them Good Year Brand no cracking fresh rubber. Extremely clean Solid chassis from what can be seen due to previously mentioned older frame off. Sold for $19,100 on September 17, 2017. 1) You're viewing my custom 1971 Corvette 454 big block convertible with big block 454 hood (not completely closed in the pictures), factory hardtop (no soft top) and side pipes. The car is a beast with it's 454ci 425 horse power engine! This is a non matching numbers car. It started it's life as a small block coupe and was professionally converted to a big block hardtop convertible, which is easily removed for a stock roadster look. Mileage shows 73,408 and I was told that it hasn't rolled over but I can not confirm. The car was professionally painted a beautiful dark green a few years back, and overall still looks great. The previous owner had built the car over 20 years ago and slowly restored it over the years, then had kids and parked it in a special temperature controlled room built just for the car. The underside had been block sanded and painted and still presents very well. Most everything under the car was restored and/or replaced. There is no rust on this car. The fiberglass work on the rear deck where the conversion was made and on the drivers side rear quarter is slightly noticeable in just the right light/angle and will eventually need addressed (not horrible at all, just making you aware it's not show car perfect but overall the car really does look pretty nice. The corners of the car where the bumpers attach have some cracking/damage that was caused by light bumping of the car during transport a while back. It has not spread any, and isn't a huge deal. The rear bumpers are quite nice. The front bumper is slightly bent as can be seen in the photo. It might be able to be straightened back out? Overall the paint is quite nice and shiny/smooth, but again there are a few minor defects here and there. There is some light scuffing on the hardtop (might buff out) and light stress cracks on the rear deck. One could enjoy the car as it is and with a few weekends worth of work, get it road worthy again. The engine is a non original 454 big block with what I'm told is 425 horse power. Belts are off in the pictures because the alternator was starting to squeal so my mechanic took them off. The transmission is an automatic. The car starts, runs and drives. Will probably need a new battery as lately I've had to jump start it to get it going. The starter sometimes doesn't want to engage from sitting. The brakes need bled before you can drive it safely. The door glass is out of the car and it needs either cut or replaced with glass for a convertible (different angle), but both originals are included. Not a huge deal. The interior is in usable condition, but to be perfect you would want to replace the seat covers as they are original and dry/cracking in places. The door panels and dash have a few cracks in them but are certainly presentable for a driver. The steering wheel is original and the cover that's in the pics has been removed. The steering knuckle in the column needs tightened. The original radio/amp will come with the car. I also have the owners manual. Tires are Firestone Red-Lines, and though they look fine and have decent tread, they are older and you want to replace them if you're doing any driving. The wiper motors are no longer there, as the car was never driven in the rain and the headlights need hooked up to operate up and down (will open manually). This is a great looking car that with just a little bit of work can be back on the streets in no time. There is no spare tire nor hanger anymore. Basically, you've got a cool ride with a killer engine that needs a little attention to put her back on the road. The engine is strong and sounds amazing through the side pipes! This is a minor project. It's a beautiful car that has sat for years in a climate controlled room and needs a few minor things to make perfect again. This car cannot be safely driven due to the brakes and must be taken away on a trailer. Bleed the brakes and a few other little repairs and be cruising that afternoon. Mileage: 73,408 miles. 11/01/2013. Sold for $20,100 on October 24, 2017. |
