Car history:
2) 1969 Chevrolet Corvette convertible with both hard and soft tops. This Corvette has a powerful 350 CID engine and a 4 speed manual transmission putting the classic muscle car sound through new side pipes. Only four people have had the pleasure of owning this Vette. New parts include: carpet, Hooker side pipes mufflers, luggage rack, front suspension rebuilt, A-arms powder coated, new bushings. The body and paint are in excellent condition and the orange paint really stands out in a crowd! There are not too many 1969 Corvette convertibles in this shape running around. The tag below the shifter reads 350 cid/350 horse/380 torque with 11:00:1 comp. ratio. 67,717 miles from the odometer. Built date is O01. October 15, 2009.
1) Beautiful Monaco Orange Convertible w/Black Soft Top and Monaco Orange Hard Top. Features & History: The history of this car is as told to me from the last two owners, which owned the car from 1974 to 2004. The car currently has an LT1 engine installed (the engine that was supposed to be an option for this model year according to the owners manual, but didn't get introduced until 1970. It is rated at 370hp and 380 pounds ft. torque with a 11.00 to 1 compression ratio). The original engine was removed when the car had approximately 50,000 miles on the odometer in 1977 and was replaced with a new crate LT1 short block purchased straight from GM through a local dealer (also in 1977). A new LT1 intake and the original heads (redone for the LT1 setup) were installed on the new block. The original 350/300hp block (included) is now wrapped in plastic and on a pallet. It is stamped as follows: V0911HY and 19S731113 and has a casting number of 3970010. The LT1 has no stampings and has a casting number of 3970010. The LT1 runs fantastic and is very quick, it also sounds great coming out of the Hooker side pipes and basically has about 17,000 miles on it. I was told that the transmission is the original. The seat cover and soft top were replaced in the 90s. The carpet is original. All chrome is original and still in great shape. The front and rear springs are Chevy Corvette gymkana springs, and the sways bars were increased in size and a rear sway bar added along with Koni shocks. Hooker header and side pipes in black were installed in the early 90s. It has a hurst shifter installed, with original shifter in box. Tilt-Tele column installed, with original in box. Kenwood corvette stereo/cassette installed, with original AM/FM in box. 4 bbl Holley 650 Carb. Still has factory distributor with points. Upgraded fan for cooler running (which I have never seen this car get close to over heating, even while riding in parades).
Condition: The car was repainted in the late eighties with the correct color paint and it is still very presentable as seen in the photos. There are a few very minor paint chips and small scratches, you basically have to look carefully to find them. Interior is in exceptional shape for being almost entirely original (seat covers were replaced). All gauges work. The clock does not. The headlights function perfectly, as do the wiper door and wipers. It shifts great, runs strong, and idles well. Doors open and close well and the latches work great. The back deck opens easily, and the soft top looks brand new and folds well. The hard top looks great with very nice underside molding. The chrome luggage rack was added three years ago (still looks new). The "corvette" inserts and the side sill plates are 3 years old. The chrome vacuum cannister covers were installed 1 year ago. The brakes were redone with stainless hardware in the 90s (the car brakes very well). The side pipe tubes will soon need replacing, since some rust is beginning to show on the underneath of the tube and the weather stripping could use replacing in some spots. The car is very capable and dependable. I would not be afraid to drive it anywhere or any distance. It is very fast and a blast to drive. The original engine block stamping shows that the engine was built in Flint on September 11, 1969 as a 350/300hp w/10.25:1, 4 BC, Man. Trans. Four RPO# P02 deluxe wheel covers, a complete set of aftermarket wheels w/95% tread practically new Eagle GT tires mounted, spare tire mounted on rally wheel, original steering column, original radio, original chrome distributor cover and spark plug wire covers, spare wiper motor, brand new front lower spoiler, brand new front "bra", hard top pulley storage rack (for storing hard top suspended from garage ceiling), original engine block and intake, four spare rally beauty rings, miscellaneous documents (owners manual, receipts, manuals, etc.). Colors from the trim plate. 67,033 miles. August 7, 2008.
