| This is a one owner 1970, matching numbers, Chevrolet Corvette LT1 with 32,750 miles on it. The car has been stored in a heated garage for many years and is now only being sold because the original owner has passed on. The estate has supplied copies of the registration since the car was purchased new in Seattle, Washington showing the chain of possession. When the car was removed from extended storage, the underside was covered in dust and cobwebs. The original tires were removed to save them when it was new and replaced with, what are now, very early BF Goodrich TA Radials. The original tires were stored safely in a garage near by, but it burned to the ground several decades ago, causing the original tires to be lost. The interior is almost perfect and original (400 Black Vinyl). I have taken images of the underside before and after it was cleaned. It would appear that the car may not have been driven in the rain and if so, very rarely. It is in very clean condition. The exterior of the car has been repainted at one time, probably several decades ago. It is good work and matches the original color (Marlboro Maroon 975). The front badge on the hood has been replaced with a year newer item. The side pipes are from either an earlier year or later because they were not offered in 1970 as a factory item. The exhaust outlets in the rear valance have been filled and painted. The original, stock Holley Carburetor was rebuilt and was ready to be installed when the owner passed away three years ago. It has just been installed, the complete fuel system was flushed and new spark plugs added. The brake calipers were seeping, so rebuilt units were installed with new pads. The original calipers are boxed and go with the car. I have just driven the car and it is a remarkable time capsule. Everything drives perfectly. The transmission shifts smoothly, the clutch is in good order and the engine runs strong. It does not have power steering or air conditioning but it does have power brakes. There are no power windows or locks. The car was ordered pretty bare to save weight and as I mentioned before, it does runs very well. The LT-1 engine debuted in 1970 and was essentially a solid lifter version of the well known small block. Using a solid lifter camshaft and an 11.00:1 compression ratio, the 350 was rated at 370hp. The LT1 could be had only with the four-speed manual transmission. The LT-1 used some of the best internal engine parts GM ever made. Forged TRW components were used throughout its construction, which featured--in 1970 only--11.0:1 compression, special piston rings, chromium steel wrist pins and connecting rods with heavy-duty 3/8-inch bolt design. The crank was quite beefy, forged from 1018 alloy steel and both cross-drilled and internally balanced. An 800cfm Holley four-barrel delivered premium leaded fuel into the cylinders via an aluminum intake manifold. In 1970, the LT-1 required a Muncie four-speed box. Colors from the trim plate.
