Stunning black on black 1969 Chevrolet Corvette L88 tribute car. This Vette started life as a big block, manual transmission 4 speed in 1969, Just prior to 1986 the Corvette was transformed into a L88 tribute car. The car has lived its life in California from 1969 to 1986 at which time it was purchased by its current owner. The car was brought to Arizona in 1992, The car is now and as always been garaged. In April of 2011 the cars engine was rebuilt to L88 specs to the tune of just over $15,000.00 spent (receipts available). No expense was spared the cur runs and drives excellent.The car has been driven less than 3,000 miles since the rebuild. This is a tribute car but is numbers matching. Tribute L88's done correctly are highly respected. For the model year 1969 only 116 Corvettes were delivered as factory L88 equipped. These cars when marketed fetch prices in excess of $450,000.00. This big block Vette drives as well as it looks. So what exactly is an L88 Corvette? It's a special order ultra high performance Corvette that was equipped with the 427 cubic inch L88 full competition engine and its trademark L88 hood, a heavy duty M22 four speed transmission, J56 heavy duty disc brake calipers, J50 power brakes, F41 heavy duty suspension, K66 transistor ignition, and C48 heater delete (1967). These were all mandatory options that the buyer had to select in order to receive the L88 engine. It was an option package. Additional options were available such as power windows, leather seats, bolt on hardtop, tinted glass, speed minder, side pipes, engine block heater, rear window defogger, head rests, tilt-telescopic steering column, and for late 1969, a heavy duty dual disc clutch, and a heavy duty turbohydramatic 400 automatic transmission.
