Car history:
EXTERIOR
The new two-stage paint has been color sanded & buffed to a mirror-like finish
revealing brilliant definition over straight lines that don’t appear to have ever been
in any kind of wreck, probably because of a female ownership history. When one
reaches a hand underneath the body, all of bonding strips are present. To prevent
overspray, all of the lights and trim were removed for paint. When reinstalling trim,
all new emblems were affixed including front and rear flags, as well new “Stingray”
badging. All of the reproduction weather-stripping is new. All of the chrome is re-
plated. We even installed a new front plastic air dam & the front grille plastic with
new lights & lenses. Two or all four of the marker lights are new. An electrician
has been all over the car to ensure all lights & signals are functional. This shark
has been painted two times to get the finish as close to flawless as possible. The
brand new BF Goodrich Radial TA tires look great on the original style factory issued
rally wheels: finishing the Stingray’s look handsomely. The spare tire carrier was
removed from the car for the painting process and refinished itself. The exhaust is
completely new and has been replaced with aluminized metal to prevent corrosion
and promote cleanliness; we installed chrome tips that are extended sufficiently as
not to discolor the new bumper chrome. You’ll even notice the original “Astro-Ventilation”
door glass as well the beautifully functional removable rear window with hidden tray
above and behind the seats.

INTERIOR
The interior has received re-foamed & recovered seats; door panels, dash, as well
recovered trim and newly installed carpet. The gauges still look great and remain
functional, including the mechanically driven tachometer. The original stereo was
restored and sounds as good as it ever did with brand new speakers & tuning knobs.
The horn button, door handle emblems, vent knobs, door sill plates, console data
plate and chrome plated interior rear view mirror are all new. The Hurst shifter
features a reproduction positive lockout reverse handle installed to recreate the
factory original look and feel! The rear compartment doors have all been replaced
as necessary but they are a sticky plastic design from the ‘60’s. The original seatbelts
are completely functional: we had the tongues re-plated with the bumpers and
installed brand new webbing.

MECHANICAL
After three years, there hasn’t been any part of the car that we haven’t touched.
The restored motor compartment looks gorgeous with reproduction air cleaner and
original aluminum Harrison overflow tank polished by hand to match those brilliantly
finned factory aluminum valve covers. WIth the original double hump heads, this
rebuilt optioned 350 / 350 horsepower numbers matching motor runs great remaining
mated to the rebuilt original four-speed transmission. All of the motors accessories
were rebuilt or replaced including the alternator; water pump; harmonic balancer;
all power steering components (all four hoses, ram, control valve and pump); brand
new reproduction radiator together with new belts and hoses. The entire braking
system has been serviced with four rebuilt calipers; new brake lines; all new e-brake
hardware and shoes; as well rebuilt master cylinder. All the sway bar link bushings,
a-arm bushings, ball joints and rear strut rod bushings are new. When the suspension
was disassembled we cleaned then painted all the pieces before reassembly and
detailed the chassis similarly. The rear wheel bearings are a captive design so we
replaced them for good measure and replaced the u-joints as necessary. The heater
core was replaced with new unit, because if new radiator was required, it needed
the core too. The car’s stance came out very nicely. The rear end was removed
and rebuilt when the motor and trans were rebuilt. Thanks!
