Lot #16619
SOLD FOR $35,000 ON 2/26/19
This 1970 Chevrolet Corvette was inherited by the seller from its original owner and is powered by a 454ci V8 paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. The car is finished in Mulsanne Blue over a blue vinyl interior and work within the past five years has included the installation of new tires, the addition of power steering, and replacement of the exhaust system including the manifolds.
The sellers ex-wife was the original owner and he inherited the car from her upon her passing.
This C3 is offered with binders of service records and documents dating back to the 1970s, a one- piece Lexan top, storage bags for it and the T-tops, and a clean Virginia title in the sellers name.
The body is finished in Mulsanne Blue with body-colored T-tops, and the seller states that it has been repainted more than once over the years and the bumpers have been re-chromed. Nicks and chips in the bodywork are shown up close in the gallery below. The car took part in a 1994 caravan to Bowling Green, Kentucky for the grand opening of the National Corvette Museum.
Rally wheels with polished trim rings are mounted with Goodyear Eagle GT II tires, which are said to be less than five years old. The seller states that the pop-up headlamps are currently inoperable.
The interior is trimmed in blue vinyl and features a padded armrest and fiber-optic light monitors, and was reportedly delivered from the factory without a radio. A modern Bluetooth receiver is hidden under the dash. The seller states that not all of the gauges are functional, and the 5-digit odometer shows approximately 92k miles.
The 454ci V8 was rated at 390 gross horsepower when new, and recent work reportedly included the addition of power steering and replacement exhaust manifolds and a new exhaust system, mufflers, and polished tips.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission. Bilstein shocks are fitted at all four corners.
Binders of maintenance records, purchase paperwork, service manuals, and other documents dating back to 1971 are included in the sale, as well as worn T-top storage bags with 1970 date codes, a one-piece smoked Lexan top with storage case, and two Top Logic folding fabric T-top panels. |
