licensed and bonded, independent auto dealer for over 20 years here in Florida. All my offerings are put through a service/safety check and road test to be sure they are safe and road worthy. I make sure the oil has been changed and do an inspection of the brakes, belts, hoses, cooling system, fluid levels. Of course, every vehicle will ride and drive with the engine and transmission performing as expected. If you would prefer to have a third party inspect the car before bidding, I am most willing to help you facilitate that. I know of several shops in town that will deal with you directly or you are welcome to locate one on your own. Either way, I will deliver the car there for you and pick it up after inspection for no extra charge. Of course, the shop would charge a nominal fee and would bill you directly, but I will even reimburse your inspection charges if you end up buying the vehicle!!! Garage Find! Just picked up this 4-speed big block 1968 Corvette Stingray convertible! The owner had it for about 18 years and just does not drive it anymore! I was fortunate to find it and am pleased to offer for sale here on eBay Motors. The odometer shows 32,600 miles, but the title was issued as mileage exempt. No surpise, I am sure it's turned over once. Originally a 427, the motor was replaced some years back with a high performance 454, possibly an LS6. He could not remember the details and had misplaced the paperwork, but did say it was a new motor installed and had only put a couple thousand miles on it. Peeked inside the oil filler cap, it all looks clean inside with no sludge and the oil pressure reads about 70 lbs. I also did some checking, the block is stamped T1105 TRH and cast with 3999289-date code J29 73. The intake is a GM aluminum casting number 3963569 which decodes as an LS6 intake. I am not going to disassemble the engine to check anything else, this is the best ID I could find. I do know the camshaft in this thing definitely is high performance. The idle has that wonderful lope and the sound out of the pipes is SWEET! It has been sitting awhile and I think the carb could use a cleaning as the choke has been wired open and the secondaries were struggling to open under heavy acceleration. Even with that, this Vette is still a beast! Just can't beat the torque of a big block. Also, the 4 speed transmission is the original Muncie. I checked it and the numbers match the VIN. She drives wonderfully with a nice tight clutch and smooth shifting with no syncro problems. Even with no power steering or air conditioning, I found this to be a pleasure to drive. Goes down the road straight and smooth. I did have a brand new set of Cooper Cobras installed as the other tires were dried out and "flat spotted" from sitting, so she is ready to enjoy right away. I also replaced the brake master cylinder and both front calipers and pads. If you have been looking for a very nice big block Corvette convertible, then you definitely need to check out this gorgeous 68! The frame is solid with no rust issues! I do have pictures of the underside, it's typical for an older original that has not been driven in the snow and salt. The paint is beautiful with a deep shine and color! The code shows it to be British Racing Green and it does have a light metallic in it. Been repainted in the past, but professionally done. Not a 10-15 thousand dollar show finish, but perfect for a driver and one you can be proud of. Actually, to me the finish looks better than factory! No fading as it has been garage kept, but some of the typical spider stress cracks in spots. You know the kind I mean, you use that colored wax and they almost disappear. The interior is super nice and in original condition. The seats may have been recovered in the past as there is no cracking or wear, they look almost too nice to be from 1968. The dash pad is not cracked and the door panels are in great condition. Carpet does appear to be the original except for one piece on the back deck that you will see in the pictures below. It has the same black color, but a different weave. Overall, I would rate this Corvette Convertible as a strong survivor, well taken care of, unrestored original with a previous engine change. It has not been abused, beat up or raced, it's a 45 year old muscle car that has been loved and enjoyed. And now it's your turn! Color codes from the trim plate. Assembly date is D28. $21,900.
