Immaculate. Great for either show or if you prefer - an excellent driver. This is one head turning and stunning C3. Original matching numbers 350ci motor, Muncie M21 4-spd transmission, both soft and hard tops in great condition. All original miles! The pictures speak volumes! Lot's of receipts. The car is currently covered and garaged at our daughter's home in Norco, CA. Just a brief history on our ’69 Stingray: First, my wife and I are car collectors - and we take our vehicles seriously. We have several 'babies' and we need to let a couple go. We originally found the '69 online in Michigan a couple years ago. This said, and as we are California people, we were most concerned about any potential rust issues. We were told "none". A bit skeptical - we know a "California rust free" car might not be quite the same as a "Michigan rust free" car. Since we had family in the mid-west, we elected to pay them a visit and check out the vette at the same time. if the car wasn't as advertised, we'd still have a great time with family. We booked our flights, rented a car and took off to Michigan near the Ohio state line. Met with the owner - who took us out to his garage, pulled the cover off - and my jaw literally dropped over the the Vette's exceptional condition. We inspected every square inch of the car. It was better than advertised... Just a brief history on the ’69 Stingray. I understand it was a 3 owner Michigan car before we purchased her and have lots of receipts. The guy we bought it from was an older widower who was very meticulous with his toys. He also had a very nice 68 GTO. He had bought the Stingray from his best friend who had also became widower. When we learned this, I told wife that this was a bit ominous... We’ll, without hesitation, I made a deal right then and there. I’ve been meaning to up wife's life insurance policy – just hadn't done it yet! A few more specifics on the Stingray: The ’69 was originally Daytona Yellow with black interior and both black soft & hard tops. The owner prior to the guy we bought it from had it painted Corvette red – so it’s an older recondition – but had always been garaged - and always covered - - always sported a really good coat of protective wax. Both tops are in excellent condition. You can’t tell by the pics, but the very tip of the nose has a blemish on it – about the size of a quarter and there’s a 1” scratch on the top of passenger side’s panel (behind the door) near where the hardtop's pegs insert into lock-down holes on the rear deck. This is where the wife “oops’d” when we we’re putting the hard top on. Both have been touched up. The black seats are not original to the car. I believe the previous owner put in the higher back seats from a ’71 Stingray. Engine is the small block 350 - completely stock with original M21 4-spd. It’s a great driver, handles great, superb suspension, stops true and straight, sounds and breathes healthy like all vettes should. The only thing I did to it her was have the original mechanical distributor rebuilt as the mesh gear stripped – and I had her completely aligned and balanced. Drives straight as an arrow. Oh, I added the K&N filter to the original chrome air cleaner. This car cruises at 80mph and it's a real thrill to drive. Almost all original... here's what's not original: She has a Holly aftermarket 650cfm carb (but have original 4bbl Quadrajet and it comes with the car). An added $1000 aftermarket OE style in dash radio with iPod jack in ashtray and custom speakers behind passenger compartment. have the original Corvette radio - and it too comes with the car. She was originally Daytona Yellow, but previous owner had her "re-done". It truly looks great. The seats. The current seats are from a '71 vette with the taller backs. I believe they are from a '71 Vette. This is a "no-regrets" collector car. What you see is what you get. She's beautiful. I have a clean California Title. 72,895 miles from the odometer. March 28, 2010. |
