This is a 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray L36 big block coupe. Original options on this car include L36- 427ci V8/390 horsepower engine, 4-speed manual transmission, power windows, power steering, AM/FM radio, and air conditioning! As you can see, this car was completely disassembled to a rolling chassis, received a complete engine and transmission rebuild by Ed Hale High-Performance Engines in Lakeside, California, was repainted the factory color of Cortez Silver and simply never finished. The paint will now showcase some storage damage around the front engine bay area. This is an original California black plate car purchased by the St. Louis Car Museum in early 2006 from the San Jose area. It has been stored inside a dry, heated garage. We have tried to photograph all of this vehicle’s parts as best we can to show that not only do we have all the original parts removed, we are also providing nearly 50 replacement components to finish this project. The short list includes complete wiring harnesses for the engine, air conditioning, and front & rear lamps; complete weather stripping kit (doors, t-tops, hood, and window glass); headlight vacuum hose kit; headlight & windshield washer hose kit; new gas tank; new a/c evaporator; new gauge cluster surround; new emblems; new heater core; new headlight actuators; new rear brake calipers and pads; and the remaining components to complete the engine (i.e. new lifters, new rockers arms, rods, rebuilt heads, original exhaust manifolds, Winters aluminum intake, Rochester Quadrajet carburetor, and original chrome air cleaner and valve covers), and many other miscellaneous new and used parts. It’s best to say that it is 99% complete with the exception to the original side glass, as both pieces are missing.
