Posted 05/12/2017 This 1976 Corvette Stingray is described as a nice survivor with a documented 33,613 miles. It remained with its original owner until 2013 and is powered by an L48 V8 engine and 4-speed manual. In addition to the desirable transmission, the car is well-optioned with working factory A/C, rear window defogger, tilt steering wheel, and power windows. Extensive service history is included, the seller noting that the only gap in documentation is from 1978-85 (the car covered about 4,800 miles during that time). The car benefits from a recent major service.
The original paint appears to have held up quite well, apart from some minor blemishes noted in the photos. The rear bumper was repainted because it was badly chipped and detracted from the rest of the car.
Nearly all the cars miles were put on by the original Pennsylvania owner who drove it regularly until the 1980s and sold it in 2013. Though technically a 3-owner car, the second owner was the dealer who sold it to the seller 7 months ago.
The interior shows very little wear and that the red leather remains supple. Except for the clock, everything inside is said to work well, including the AM/FM stereo radio, rear defogger, vacuum operated hidden headlights, power windows and windshield wipers. All the dashboard bulbs have been replaced and the seller also replaced the heater core and the vent gasket foam. The A/C has been converted to new refrigerant and blows cold. Aftermarket replacement floor mats match the interior nicely.
The 180-horsepower 350 is said to start readily from cold and retains all its original emissions equipment. The seller replaced the fuel lines, belts, hoses, plugs, cap, rotor, wires, air filter, PCV valve and breather and had the carb tuned by a specialist. He also added a Corvette Central dual exhaust setup as used on 1974 Corvettes, which were the last C3s with a true dual exhaust, but the stock system is an easy retrofit.
The underside looks clean and the seller says there is no known rust in the birdcage. The car reportedly was garage kept its whole life. Original bonding strips are said to be intact and the T tops reportedly are leak-free. Tires are new BF Goodrich T/A radials and the car had a recent 4-wheel aligned.
