| Six owner car with 74,310 Original Miles. The car has the original matching numbers 454 (LS5) engine and 4-speed (M20) transmission and is highly documented. The car was purchased at Powers-Swain Chevrolet in Fayetteville, North Carolina on November 26, 1971 and came from the factory with the following options: A.I.R, Power Windows, Power Steering, Air Conditioning, Black Vinyl (400), Steel Cities Gray (988), Auxillary Hardtop (not included), and White Convertible Top. Documentation includes: Protect-O-Plate, Title, Car Owners Companion Sleeve, Consumer Information Booklet, Wheel Trim Instruction Sheet, Emission Control Booklet, Owners Manual, Assembly Manual, and receipts dating back to 1978. This is six owner car with all previous owners information except for the second owner. The documentation has detailed information verifying the original 74, 480 miles on the odometer and previous maintenance performed. 1 of 3919 454 270HP cars, 1 of 2346 Steel Cities Gray cars, 1 of 6508 Convertibles, ? of Convertibles with Air Conditioning and A.I.R. Smog System. The engine is in excellent condition and is all original minus the removal of the A.I.R. Smog System including the air tubes on the exhaust manifolds. (A.I.R. not with car). When the A.I.R. was removed by a previous owner the belt controlling the Air Condition Compressor and the Smog Pump was discarded. The Air Condition Compressor spins freely but it's current condition is unknown at this time. The original carburetor was removed at one point and replaced with a 1971 Chevelle 454 carburetor by the GM part number. The transmission shifts smoothly and is all original with the VIN and stamping which indicate that it is a Muncie M20 and has a wide ratio. The frame is in remarkable condition and the suspension still rides smooth and had most of the bushings replaced indicated by receipts. The under carriage is very clean with all new factory correct exhaust, spare tire, and spare tire carrier. The tires are in great condition! The interior is in great shape with recently installed new carpet but the passenger side door panel has a small tear on the lower left corner. The rear hatch has a scratch behind the drivers seat but is covered when the seat back is upright. The original jack and handle are in the rear compartment and all stickers are present under compartment lid. The exterior paint has small blemishes with the most noticible scratch being where a previous owner attempted to remove the hardtop with no help. When he scratched the paint he sold the original hardtop the next week. The hood chrome has small pitting and a small star burst of paint in the center of the chrome inserts. The car has had one repaint and the color is dead on to Steel Cities Gray. The overall paint condition is an 8 out of 10! The chrome is in excellent condition! The Corvette is also optioned with Tilt TeleScopic Steering Wheel! The convertible top is white and in excellent condition with a clear back window and tag on left corner. The mileage will increase no more than 100 miles as the car will be driven to a car show on 04/25/2009. The exterior paint has excellent shine. The Air Condition will be serviced and a new belt installed. There is one small dent in the center chrome piece above the windshield! The original blue identification sticker is still affixed to the driver's door jam. This sticker contains the VIN and a date code of (9/71) and is usually removed when a car is repainted. The casting date on the block is I 8 71 (September 8, 1971) and the casting number of the block is 3999289. The engine build stamping on the pad is T0917CSR. 74,480 miles from the odometer.
