| 2) This is for a numbers matching 1970 Corvette Coupe. It's a 350/300 4-Speed car, with air conditioning, power steering, power brakes. Original color is Corvette Bronze (993) with Light Saddle (418) vinyl interior. The interior is completely removed and I lifted the body to check the frame & for the tank sticker. Unfortunately, the tank sticker is all but gone. The frame is in decent shape, no major repairs are required. Items included are: two seats, both doors, original intake/valve covers/exhaust manifolds/distributor/air cleaner, clutch/brake pedals, steering wheel/column, headlight assemblies, T-Tops, front window, hood, & tachometer. I do not have the dash area or the ventilation system, the speedometer, or the gauge assembly with gauges. I started the motor & it fires with no problems. Engine suffix: CTD, date code: E 270, block code: 3970010. The differential assembly looks to be in very good shape. I do believe the transmission will need rebuilt, the shifter has problems moving from 3rd to 2nd gear. The car needs completely restored, it's ready for a frame off restoration obviously. The front cowl/firewall has been replaced but needs a good fiberglass body man to finish. The front window area has not been touched. You will need to add front fenders and the surround panels to complete the front end, or a one piece unit from Eckler's. The title is clear. Make no mistake, this isn't for the faint of heart. If your looking for a Corvette to restore that's had most of the tear down work done, this is the one. I purchased it from that owner last year & wanted to do a complete frame off restoration. I've been tearing it apart since I purchased it last August, I never drove it though, just started tearing it apart when I got it home. I sold most of the original pieces (bumpers/trim/wiring harness/etc) on ebay since this past January to get extra money to buy new and replacement pieces, thats why most of the original pieces are gone. I purchased a 1971 Boss 351 Mustang in the spring & it just came down to either restoring the Boss or the Vette, & the Boss won out due to its rarity. Hence...why the Vette looks the way it does now & why it's gotta go. May 31, 2010. 1) This is an older partial restoration/modified Corvette. Originally the 350 cu.in. engine was rated at 300 horsepower. Restoration/modification took place in the early 90's. I have some receipts that include the engine, rebuilt by the Performance Clinic. Engine is not original. Appears to be a good solid motor that does not smoke and has great power. When purchased, the car had a tunnel Ram intake with 2-450 Holley 4 barrel carbs. Although impressive looking they have been removed in favor of a single 750 Holley on a Edelbrock Performance RPM intake. This set up is much more responsive and driveable. The camshaft is a medium range Erson Cam with Roller Tip Rockers, Hooker Ceramic Headers, and electronic ignition complete a dependable engine package with approx. 1,000 miles since rebuild. The clutch is newly replaced. The master cylinder and brakes have been rebuilt. I have many of the original parts. The original color was orange but repainted black in the early 1990's. The paint is showing some wear along with some stress checks in areas. It looks good from a short distance. The Interior has new carpet and newer seat upholstery. Unfortunately the passenger seat bottom rear seam is coming apart. This car is a driver. It is fast, dependable and consistant. Enjoy it this summer. Don't worry about the paint. Drive it the way it was meant to be. It can easily be restored however. July 1, 2009. |
