| Car history: |
Posted 05/24/2016 The 1977 Corvette is best described as a refined touring sports car offering classic Corvette styling, reliability and many creature comfort options. This is a Corvette which can be enjoyed driving locally or driven cross country with ease and enjoyment. This is a Corvette that requires nothing more then annual routine maintenance to be able to enjoy many years of carefree pleasurable driving. Open air driving is available by simply taking off the T-Top roof panels. What's particularly attractive in the styling of the 1977 model is the fact that it's the last Corvette to offer the iconic straight up and down rear window.
A very rare 1977 Corvette presenting in as close to as new condition as possible. This original un-restored Corvette has been owned and meticulously maintained by a longtime Corvette enthusiast and NCRS member and today presents as it did when it left the St Louis Corvette Assembly plant in 1977. Original un-restored Corvettes presenting in excellent condition are truly rare and in a class of their own. After all, a Corvette can be restored over and over again; but, it is only original once. For those who appreciate Corvette authenticity, this is a 1977 Corvette as built by the United Automobile Workers at the St. Louis Assembly plant in 1977 not a Corvette built at body or restoration shop.
Six times the car received NCRS Top Flight Awards, with an average score of 99.1. What an unequivocal testament to the exceptional originality and condition of the car. The car's ability to perform as intended upon leaving the St. Louis Assembly Plant in 1977 has been demonstrated by passing the rigorous NCRS Performance Verification Test, of which only 13 1977 Corvettes out of a total production of 49,213 have successfully completed. These accomplishments have resulted in the car receiving the very impressive NCRS McLellan Mark of Excellence Award, named after Dave McLellan, longtime Chief Engineer of the Corvette. Only 4 1977 Corvettes have achieved this distinguished award. In addition, this 1977 Corvette has been awarded the NCRS 4 Star Bowtie Award, which recognizes the car presents with its original, as born with components, and represents the Gold Standard for those wishing to correctly restore a 1977 Corvette to its original factory appearance. Only 8 1977 Corvettes have received this very prestigious award. Further confirmation on the car's originality, condition and performance is provided by the awarding of the Bloomington Gold Certification, Bloomington Gold Survivor Award and Bloomington Gold Benchmark Award. This car has been rigorously scrutinized by the highest level judges in the Corvette world and found to be a Corvette of absolute distinction. Being invited to be displayed in the NCRS Gallery at Corvettes at Carlisle is another example of the recognition bestowed upon this 1977 Corvette.
For the collector who appreciates originality, outstanding condition, documentation, limited ownership and the most prestigious awards offered in Corvette judging, this 1977 Corvette has it all. Without a doubt this 1977 Corvette is in a class of its own and will appeal to the buyer who desires the Best of the Best and will settle for no less.
