"1971 Corvette Convertible with Hardtop 454 Big Block Numbers Matching"
1971 Corvette Convertible. 454 cu.in. 365 HP Big Block Engine. Original 454 Hood. 4-speed manual transmission. Two tops -- Convertible and Original Hardtop. All Numbers Matching VIN# 194671S119967 36,000 original miles: Southern car until 1987, when I purchased it. This car has been driven only 400 miles in the last 26 years (since 1987). Car has been kept in an indoor garage its entire life. Car was in professional storage for five years 1988-1993 while I was working/living in Japan. The engine has been turned over periodically. The car runs and sounds great. Original 1971 Rally wheels. Mille Miglia Red. Originally Steel Cities Grey Black vinyl interior. All guages, radio, etc. are original, and working. New battery, fuel pump, points, calipers and brakes (on all four wheels) installed in June 2013 by my mechanic. Vehicle has been cleaned and detailed. My mechanic and a Corvette restorer both say the frame and underbody fiberglass are "mint", and all original, including bolts and rivets! The car has never bit hit. The wheel wells are "clean".
The last time I showed the car in 1997, it won a 1st place trophy. The judge said the frame and under-body were the cleanest he had ever seen on a 1971 'Vette.
There are two very small stress cracks on the back deck. There are gel coat cracks on the right rear fender above the wheel well. There is some rusting on the chrome bumpers. There are 5-6 small paint chips on the car body. Paint discoloration on the back deck near gas filler cap. This car has no "power options" (no power brakes, no power steering, no power windows).
The original owner wanted a "high performance" Corvette with all engine power delivered to the rear wheels!!! |
