Car history:
Here is a 1968 corvette roadster build dated Nov. 1967. Factory 327 350 hp 4 spd , paint code 986---Cortez silver, trim 442---gun metal interior. This is a matching engine and tranny. Engine is apart and will need to be rebuilt. Most of the unique parts for 1968 are there. Pretty plain jane with only PB. I started to convert it over to power steering. Also was going to convert to PW, and have the wiring harness to do it. I bought this years ago from NJ (this is a US car) with plans to fully restore it, but as with most things in life, priorities change. I started a frame off. I redid any sections of the frame that needed any work. I added '69 and up frame gussets (rear cross member to kick up) for added strength in the rear end. What's new or rebuilt? Upper/lower control arm bushings (poly)and all attachment bolts new, upper/lower control arm ball joints, steering box rebuilt with new coupler, rebuilt ps control valve, new front 550 lb springs, new front sway bar with hardware (1 1/8), new front wheel bearings and seals, new tie rod ends and sleeves, new idler arm, new 68 front frame extensions and cross member, new body mount kit, rebuilt trailing arms with new parking brake shoes (has holes to mount a rear sway bar) new alignment shim kit, New rear gears (3.90), new rear cross member bushings with differential cross member reinforcing kit, new mono leaf spring (355 lb), new rear shock mounts, new poly adjustable strut rods, all new u joints (need to install)and I'm sure other stuff i missed. As for the body, i have a new front clip, new inner front fenders, new BB hood (has edge damage due to shipping), but should be an easy fix, new lower plenums etc. The rad cradle is 1968 BB or SB air car and is mint. I have taken pictures of alot of the parts that come with the car, there are some other small things that may not be in the pictures, but will go with the car. The rear clip is in great condition, only needing some alignment of doors/panels etc. The driver floor has a crack where the last owner must have done something. Its not missing any "glass" just needs to be bonded. Inner lower doors are good, but someone cut speaker holes at the bottom, but can be fixed or left alone since the door skin should cover it. The bird frame is solid. This car still needs to be assembled (assembly manual included) and more parts needed to be purchased, but alot of the hard work and unique to '68 parts are with the car. I took some pics of the frame prior to putting the body back on so you can see the work done. The body is bolted on now. July 4, 2011.
