Very Rare Origional 1969 Corvette 427 400 tri power 4 speed block, 512 block date B-5-9 T0213LQ, STD bore with no ridge or ware and can stay at STD, No sleeves repairs or cracks, Steel crank, Origional 427 STD pistons and 063 heads A-23-9 B-7-9, All Checked out good, block should be hot tanked I did not want to send it out to be blasted to clean it, broach and stamp are nice but a little light stamp on the Q. | Right up front I am going to make a huge statement and tell you this is one of the nicest shark era Corvettes I have ever seen! That is a pretty big statement so I want you to know who this is coming from. Our name is Prodigy Customs and we deal in high end muscle cars and build ultra high end Pro Touring cars for SEMA, Magazines, Shows, and Pro Touring racing events. We have restored, bought and sold numerous Platinum Certificate muscle cars including everything from ZL1 Camaro's, Ultra Rare Nickey and Yenko Camaro's, LS6 Chevelle's, 409s, Tri 5s and Corvettes, so we know a car when we see it. I want to tell you this not to brag or promote our business, but to let you know this is coming from a qualified source. Many people make statements about "Best in the World", "Nicest one I ever seen". But they have never seen another car, LOL! So how does this car end up in our stable? This car comes to us as a trade on a Ultra high end Pro Touring build for a regular customer that has to thin the heard by one car to add another. I am going to say it again, this is one of the nicest shark Corvettes I have ever seen and drove, period! And I have seen a lot! I would love to keep this one but in my business I get to keep a toy for a while, play with it and try somthing different. So why is it so nice? Let's see, Where to start? Lets start with 99% NOS or original everything! The car has more NOS or MINT original parts then I have seen on one car! Even the guts of the 4 speed was freshen with all new NOS parts and shifts as nice as any I have ever driven! Exhaust? NOS! Ball joints? NOS! Body? Perfect! Not good, but PERFECT! I cannot find any body damage anywhere on the car! Frame? Perfect, never any rust or pitting! And I cannot get over how sweet the shifter is in this car, yup, NOS! The restorer of this car collected parts for 20 years to restore a already super nice orignal car. A Original 427 / 400HP Tri Power car has been personalized and converted to a L88 top end including correct super rare L88 heads. The engine is date correct with matching numbers and with correct 427 / 400 LQ code and matching VIN, but the top end (heads up) is a virgin set of 842 aluminum L88 heads and L88 intake. A ORIGINAL L88 Hood was also added. The engine has all the correct guts for the 427 Tri Power and could be changed back to the Tri Power set up easily. The L88 Top End is super valuable, the heads alone could be sold for more then enough money to cover the Tri power conversion if someone wanted to, but I personally would never do it. I took this car to a couple shows and people go gaga wen they see the correct L88 appearing beast under the hood. Just My opinion, I would leave it alone. That L88 hood is so sexy I could not imagine taking it off. Here is the opportunity to have a "L88 car" (CLONE) without spending the $500K a L88 car would cost! But buy it for a 400HP Tri Power price! The ONLY NON GM part I can find on the car is a aftermarket aluminum radiator added for cruising in our Florida heat. The car is absolutely gorgeous in Cortez Silver and Black Interior. Webmaster: Somebody posted the motor alone, and now, the car's owner tells us the car is a matching number. Here is a strange story of a restamp?? How come this car is matching number, when the motor with the same VIN is for sale, alone?? Answer of the seller of the car:"Seen that motor also but the stamp looks better on the motor in the car! If this one is stamped it was done by a wizard. And both motors are the exact same casting date. I did not restore the car so I can not say what may or may have happened through the years. I got the car exaclty as it sits here. Why someone would stamp it to make a clone makes little sense? And why someone would stamp it a 400HP makes even less sense? Whichever motor you would believe would document the 427 / 400. But I want more for it then 427 / 400 money anyway. I am selling it for the sum of its parts as a super nice L88 clone with a number matching 400HP short block. Nothing more. Weather that other motor is real or not, does not affect value". October 24, 2011. |
