For sale: 1971 Corvette convertible #'s matching 454-365 HP- 4 speed, air- conditioning, power steering, power brakes, tinted glass, am-fm radio, tilt & telescopic steering wheel, Nevada silver with black interior. I purchased this Corvette over two years ago from a one owner it was located 20 miles from me. This was a complete original car, the engine had never been out, but he had it repainted years ago. I have receipts from him dated back to 1974. I have the tank sticker. Then I did a 14 month nut and bolt frame off restoration. Original Engine was rebuilt (original bore), by a well known local builder. #'s matching transmission was gone through, clutch was replaced and flywheel was redressed --rear end (3:08) had new seals put in it. I had the original carburetor- original exhaust manifolds, dist. rebuilt-- rear spindles were sandblasted and totally rebuilt, all bushings, u-joints were replaced, the rust free frame, and all suspension pieces, along with all bumper brackets were sandblasted and black satin powder coated. Four wheel alignment was done. All correct markings, and stampings were applied as NCRS standards to the frame and suspension. All bolts and nuts were sent away acid dipped and then either black phosphite or silver zinc plated. -- All new stainless brake and fuel lines, new gas tank - new stainless brakes, shocks, dated wheels were sandblasted & powder coated, then the outer was painted silver. new 4 clip trim rings, new tires. Body was stripped to bare fiberglass along with all jambs, them primed with polyester primer, then reprimed with urethane primer, sealer applied then 3 coats of Dupont color then, three coats of clear. Door hinges were sandblasted and rebuilt, all door hardware was removed cleaned and reinstalled. Headlight housings were disassembled, soda blasted, painted, reassembled. All stainless steel mouldings were polished. New door handles, bumpers were rechromed. All fiber optics work. Interior was replaced with Al Knock seat covers, carpet, top, center console, original dated door panels. Dash is original, no cracks or tears. All new weatherstriping. All guages cleaned and work to look as new. Heater control rebuilt - heater core was replaced A/C blows cold. (134A with original a/c caps). Drivers window has a small chip in top corner, windshield was replaced, windshield post are rust free and were repainted. Convertible top bars were repainted. Original lid covers recarpeted, - original jack and handle complete- owners manual - new battery. This car starts, idles, shifts, steers, drives and stops like a new car. I could go on and on but, this is a complete frame off restoration that started as nice original complete car. The winner of the auction will get the name of the previous owner. I have over 200 pic of the restoration and most all of the receipts. Less than 1,000 miles after restoration.
