| Code correct Mille Miglia Red exterior, code correct Red vinyl interior with door panels and carpet upgraded to deluxe interior. Numbers matching 270hp 350ci engine, automatic transmission, posi rear-end. With history traceable back to all three of its owners, this C3 is nicely optioned and comes to us in the highly desirable Red/Red color combination, and is complete with a tank sticker as well as a plethora of other documentation. Car received a show-quality repaint in 2004 and still looks spectacular with no orange peel and just a few minor chips, mainly around the hood edges. Chrome bumpers are excellent and look to have been replaced recently. Exterior door handles show some light pitting, and the driver's side seems to have "sprung-up" a bit more than the passenger side. Weatherstripping is intact, but looks older and is getting brittle in some places. A set of nearly new raised white letter Goodyear Eagle GTII tires surrounds the Corvette rally wheels, which show excellent trim rings and center caps. Tailight lenses are in very good shape with no large cracks. Interior shows overall very well, but the seat covers are experiencing some cracking, and a very small hole in the driver's lower seat cushion. Door panels are overall good, with an obvious repair next to the driver's door handle, and a tear on the rear upper edge of the same panel. Lower carpeted areas on the door panels show a good bit of fading and should be redone to match the rest of the interior carpet. Gauges have clear lenses, bright needles, and all appear to be functioning, including the clock. Vacuum system for the headlights and wipers works nicely. Center console and dash pad are in great shape with no apparent cracks or tears. The carpet has been switched to cut-pile and looks to be very recent with no stains and plenty of color. A Custom Audio Sound cassette deck has been added, but the original AM/FM radio will come with the car as well. Steering wheel is in very good condition, although the tele and horn button trim have been refinished in an incorrect gloss coating. Seatbelts appear to be original GM units and function well. Engine compartment is overall very clean and correct; ignition shielding is in place, and the exhaust manifolds look good with a recent hi-temp coating. An aluminum Edelbrock Performer intake has replaced the original cast GM unit. The underside of the hood has been finished in an incorrect gloss black, and the hood does not stay up at this time. A correct style a/c compressor is present and hooked up, but the air does not seem to be blowing cold. Alternator appears to be a recently remanufactured unit. This car drives very well with a tight suspension and also brakes very straight. Several binders of documentation and receipts for paint, steering and suspension, exhaust, and wheel bearings, among other items, will also go with this '71. Additionally, four VHS video tapes documenting the engine rebuild will be supplied, as well as several trophies which this car has collected at various shows. Multiple repair and assembly manuals accompany this car as well as vintage photos of the car taken by the original owner. Tank sticker shows original factory features of this car as air conditioning, AM/FM radio, RARE optional 3.08 rear-end gear ratio (1 of 2,395), RARE heavy duty battery (1 of 1,560), custom wheel covers (missing), power brakes, power steering, and tilt-n-tele. |
