| Car history: |
| This is a very early 1972 California car. Trim Plate A25 404 988. Body- The paint is Firethorn Red and is a metallic pearl. The paint is not that old and is a beautiful color. The paint has a couple areas that have issues. There is a crack on the roof area behind the T-Tops and on the hood. There is also 2 small chips around the chrome gas cap cover. The car also has a luggage rack, chrome gas cap door and chrome rear vents. Interior- The leather seats are in good shape as well as the dash and forward console. The rear center console where the window switches are is cracked and needs replaced. The front carpet is alright but the back carpet needs replaced. The radio has sirius radio that has the hidden unit under the drivers seat. The car has tilt/telescopic steering and the Mahogany steering wheel. The clock and oil guage does not work. Drivetrain- The car has the original 350 engine and transmission that came with the car. The engine has been rebuilt with modifications. The engine has been bored out with a 400 crank and Manley forged pistons. The deck of the block has been taken to zero and Edelbrock Aluminum 202 heads have been installed. The pistons were dished for clearance. The heads have full roller rockers. The ignition has the pertronix ignition installed. The intake manifold is an aluminum dual quad setup by Edelbrock. The two carbs are Edelbrock 500 CFM's. There is a Holley Blue Fuel Pump on there with the regualtor but the manual fuel pump is being used. The engine also has a Pete Jackson Noisy Gear Drive. The engine has headers that exit out the back and the car sounds great! The TH400 transmission was rebuilt 2 years ago using all race clutches, along with the transmission being rebuilt, the shifter was replaced. The transmission shifts fine. The engine does NOT get hot during driving in hot weather, but when driving in very hot weather, the fuel lines will heat up and the fuel pressure drops. Steering and Suspension- Shocks were replaced last year along with the rear 320 pound composite spring. The car handles really nice but has a hole in one of the power steering lines and leaks. All the rest of the power steering parts were replaced in the last few years. Options- This early 72 vette had alot of options: Power Steering/Power Brakes/Tilt-Telescopic Steering/Power windows/Asto Ventilation/Rear defroster/Air Conditioning/Wood steering wheel/Pertronix Ignition/Automatic Transmission. July 30, 2009. |
