1978 CHEVY CORVETTE 25th Anniversary Edition. A very nice find, I acquired this Corvette from the 2nd owner of the car, and have the maintenance records going back to 1983 to prove it. I also have the ORIGINAL Chevrotlet Dealership Window Sticker. A nice 25th year Anniversary model, that has been taken good care of and been garaged most of it's life. I decided to list the Corvette in Australia, first, as my previous Corvettes have sold to Australia. I have plenty of photos. Apart from some minor cosmetic issues, this is a solid Car.
Car runs strong and quick. Had a few upgrades done on the car this week at my mechanics, listed is what he told me the car has: Edlebrock Performance intake, HOLLEY 4 - barrel performance carburetor, 4 NEW Belstin Shocks, 2 front new Springs, 4 NEW rotors, 2 NEW Front Brake Calipers, 4 NEW brakes, NEW Brake Master Cylinder, Recent Battery, NEW Starter, New Alternator.
My mechanic said Carburetor could use some adjusting/rebuild, Gas/Petrol gauge is not working properly (stuck on FULL position).
Also, has headers and A/C equipment has been removed. I have the compressor if you want it. ** NOTE ** Odometer has NOT gone over the 100,000 mile mark, as all the records indicate.
BODY: All original, with Anniversary Emblems, in nice condition. Headlights pop up and close well, one is a little slower than the other, but do work. All lights and signals work as well. PAINT: Paint color (Metallic Midnight Blue) had a re-paint years ago, but I believe the primer used was incorrect as the top part of the vehicle (where sun would mostly hit it) has many Lacquer Cracks. (please see final photo for close-up). From 10 feet away looks great, but you can see them upon closer inspection. Original Alloy Corvette Wheels, with all center caps. Wheels could use a good polish. They also have the wheel lock, that comes with the key. NO RUST ON THIS CAR. Although this car comes with a MICHIGAN state Title, it has been a CALIFORNIA car most of it's life. (Previous owner had the car titled in Michigan to avoid the California Smog testing, since the smog pump has been removed. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS IF YOU ARE A CALIFORNIA RESIDENT OR PLAN TO REGISTER THIS CAR IN CALIFORNIA, YOU WILL NEED THE SMOG EQUIPMENT PUT BACK ON.
INTERIOR: As you can see from the photos, apart from the steering wheel having some cracks; the interior is mostly blemish free, with all original carpet and upholstery. Even comes with Corvette floor mats that are in great shape. Seats work properly, storage bins and glove compartment close properly. Power windows go up and down (could use some oiling as they are a little slower than my 77 Vette), no cracks on the dash or console. No cracks in any of the windows, glass. Still has the original 8-TRACK TAPE PLAYER installed. Although, I have not been able to get it to work as of yet. Also, the glove compartment has the 8-Track Tape slots, for extra tapes. I disconnected the Power Antenna as it was not working properly. Does have the rear cargo "shade" that pulls over the cargo area. I did notice that the "manufacturing stickers" on the driver's door are not there. I don't know if this will be a problem. Of course the original VIN# on the driver's side column is there. I will try to check the engine #, to see if they are matching. as well.
