| 1968 Corvette Coupe, L-88 Race Car with heavy duty close ratio 4 speed M-22 transmission - Has GM replacement block. Corvette Bronze paint with Dark Orange (originally) interior which is now Black. Valuable project car that needs restored but does run strong! Options per tank sticker (build sheet): L-88, M-22, 4.56 posi, power brakes, J-56 brakes, transistorized ignition, F-41 special heavy duty suspension, and tinted glass. Also has GM racing hooker type side exhaust (GM pt. #3960709/710 and what we believe are GM fender flares). Most factory correct components. Documented with the tank sticker, owner history, title search back to 1969, owners manual, sales brochure, and Earthquake 88 certificate from Bloomington Gold in 1988... only 80 L-88's were produced in 1968. Just in from past owner of car since 1977 and delivered new in Texas (Houston? NASA? Astronauts?). This is one of the rarest Corvettes ever built and absolutely worthy of an upscale restoration. This car also is qualified for the L-88 only invitation for Bloomington Gold's Special Collection this year and in its present condition!! March 21, 2008. |
