| Car history: |
| My father purchased the car in 1981 as a salvage, original color code 984 Daytona Yellow. It had sustained left door and rear quarter damage. During on-frame restoration, we discovered the front clip was replaced with a 1970 clip, but correct '69 gill vents were patched in. To match the front, the previous owner also added rear fender flares. Instead of yellow, my dad chose a GM burgundy. In 1984, I met my wife cruising the local McDonalds. Then in 2005, prior to his death, my father sold the car to a mutual friend, and after several unsuccessful attempts, I finally reacquired the car in 2009. My dad and I completed the restoration in 1984, and just recently, my son and I completed an interior restoration (2017). |
