| Car history: |
| The less then two year old restoration on the body and paint on this car is very nice. The owner has pictures of the car as it was going through its body restoration. If you look down the side of the Vette, the doors line up to the fenders better then when it came out of the factory. They really did a nice job making this car straight. It’s has a big block hood for a more muscular look too. The Tuxedo Black paint is simply gorgeous. It has a great shine and gloss. No nicks or scratches in the finish. The chrome and trim are still original to the car. The bumpers are a bit milky and should be redone eventually for a fresh look. The trim is not bad. She rides on brand new Firestone tires with correct 15x8 rally wheels that were powder coated. He also has a set of 17” 5-spoke wheels with black centers and polished lip with 245/45/17’s if you like a modern look. Only one set goes with the car so the buyer chooses which wheel and tire package they like. The interior is redone. The door panels, carpet, and seats are brand new and look great. The original console is in very nice condition. The dash looks good too. The original AM/FM radio is in place but not hooked up. The knobs are missing off of it. The battery door cover behind is the seat is off of the car. That was the last thing he was to order for the car but never got to it before it came into our dealership. The heat works well. It has power windows that work fine. The speedometer does not work. The black convertible top is brand new and looks great. Interior code is ZQ4 and paint code is 986. The 350/300hp engine was rebuilt before the current owner bought it. The motor is supposed to be numbers matching but the block was decked so the VIN is no longer on the pad. The block casting number is 3956618. It is non-matching but correct. The motor has a slightly larger camshaft, Weiand Intake manifold, brand new Edelbrock 600cfm carburetor, and headers into side exhaust. Behind the good running engine is a 4-speed Muncie transmission. This Corvette is equipped with power steering and power brakes. The steering box was replaced new. The front and rear suspension bushings were also replaced new. The whole vacuum system for the headlight and wiper doors has been replaced with new cans, lines, etc. The headlights and wiper door works great. Fire this car up and the side pipes roar to life. What a great sound! Slide the shifter into first gear, let off the clutch and you are driving with a smile on your face. Overall, this is one sweet triple black Corvette that looks awesome. The body and paint is real nice. The interior looks fresh. The all black look you can’t beat. 96,150 miles. February 29, 2008. |
