| Frame on restoration completed in 2006. All work professionally done with receipts totalling $16,000. I have documentation dating back to when this vette was purchased new on 06/28/72. This vette has lived in California, Arizona and Texas. DMV odometer verifications at times of sale. This is a "rust free" adult owned vette with only 96,661 documented miles which includes approx. 7,500 miles since restoration. Specifications: 1. 350 cubic inch engine with a complete rebuild, dynode at 270 hp at the rear wheels by Carroll Cottle Performance. 2. New 700 R4 transmission with overdrive. I have the original Turbo Hydra-Matic 400 transmission in good working order. 3. New front and rear suspensions. 4. Rebuilt rear end. 5. New Edlebrock 4-barrel carburetor with high flow air handler. I have the original quad 4 in good working order. 6. New Warbonnett Yellow paint in 2001. A few nicks low on the body do show when you look up close. Overall very good paint. I do not have the paint invoice for approx. $4,000 which was not added in with the above total for restoration. 7. New high flow exhaust and pipes. 8. New power steering unit and all hoses. 9. New alternator. 10. New GM a/c compressor and evaporator (cold air). 11. New ss brakes and lines. 12. Electronic Ignition. 13. New radiator and cowling. 14. New oem shifter. 15. New vacuum system for lights and wiper panel. 16. New carpet, mats and heat shields. 17. Tires have less than 8,000 miles. 18. All gauges work, even the clock. 19. The dash and instrument panel are in good to very good condition. 20. The chrome is perfect. 21. The Texas Classic 1972 tags will be sold/transferred to new owner. 22. All new hoses. In my opinion here is what this vette needs: 1. Original leather seats show wear spots and need replacing. 2. The door panels are OK, but with new leather seats you might as well replace them too. 3. Manual trip for odometer does not work. My guess is a $10 part and the headache of putting it in. 4. Radio gets power and the face lights up, but no sound. I have boxes with most of the parts taken off during the restoration that of course will go with this car to the new owner. This vette is a great driver and very good on gas mileage with the 700 R4 trans. 14.5 mpg in town and 24 mpg on the highway doing 70-75 mph. Way better gas mileage than my '69 conv. This is my Sunday driver. Never seen rain since 2001. Always garaged and covered. 96,661 miles. June 2, 2008. |
