Car history:
One of a kind custom 1971 Corvette with a 1969 nose clip. Not another one in the
world like this one. It is black with purple and blue ghost flames, black interior.
I've owned the car for 10 years and have replaced every thing except the 308
rear end. It has a 468 c.i. big block that was rebuilt in March and has 300 miles on
it. A new Tremec TKO600 O.D. 5 speed top loader, good for 600+ hp, was
installed at the time of the rebuild. The engine is ported, polished and the rotating
mass is balanced. It has dual 4 barrel 600 cfm Edelbrock polished carbs and
matching Edelbrock polished intake. It has an MSD 6AL ignition box with a 6000
rpm rev limiter, GM HEI distributor with an Accel high output coil, open chamber
polished and ported 454 heads rebuild buy Outlaw Racing with Manley one piece
stainless steel valves, racing springs, ceramic coated headers. It has March
serpentine belt and pulleys, new high flow water pump, twin pusher electric fans,
11:1 TRW forged pistons, Seal Power Molley rings and Seal power main bearings
and rod bearings. New high output oil pump, 65 p.s.i. A Comp Cl11-602-8
Hydraulic roller cam, roller lifters and roller rockers. A 7 quart Milodon oil pan.
Rebuilt power steering pump and steering box, new starter. It has autocross
suspension with Bilstine shocks, 360 lb. rear mono spring, over sized sway bars.
Baer cross drilled and slotted rotors, rebuilt calipers and new ceramic pads.
Wheels are American Racing Torque Thruster II, 18" on the front and 20" on the
back. Tires are Nitto's 275x35 ZR. The exhaust is 2 1/2" pipe, heat wrapped with
Flowmaster Super 44's. The tranny tunnel and fire wall are also heat shielded. The
clutch and pressure plate were replaced in '06 and have about 1500 miles on
them. The radiator and heater core were replace 5 years ago. A new oversized
driveline and new u-joints were installed at the time of the rebuild. It has
plexiglass t-tops. Inside is very nice...black interior with 1982 Corvette seats, roll
cage, 5 point Simpson Racing belts, fire extinguisher, Pioneer CD stereo, Zora
Duntov signature steering wheel, battery cut off switch. All the gauges work,
including the clock, speedo and tach. Now for the bad news, very little, the wiper
door works, but for some reason the wipers don't. They did before the rebuild. I
don't think it's anything serious. The paint is gorgous, $13,000 5 years ago. During
the rebuild it magically got some surface scratches. The last picture shows some
of the scratches on the hood and fender. It was taken right after I got it back from
the rebuild. I've rubbed a lot of them out myself. A good color sanding and buffing
will remove 99% of them. I guess my mechanic never heard of a fender cover.
There is a nickel sized blister just under the passengers side door handle and a
1/2" crack, in the paint on the hood scoop. I am taking it to a detailer on Wed.
6/17 to have the paint professionaly polished and buffed out. On a scale of 1-10
the paint is a 8-8.5. Some minor work required for show quality. There is a small
hole in the carpet under the gas pedal, imagine that, and some minor cracking in
the corner of the shift consel. It's a real head turner and very fast. Appraised May
2007 for $40,000, before the rebuild, intake upgrade and tranny swap. The original
#'s matching Muncie M21 4 speed with linkage goes with the car. It has a low reserve
and it is for sale locally. Car is sold as is. Buyer responsable for transportation or
pick up in person.
