1969 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible. This car retains the correct matching number (correct casting and vin numbered) 350/350 HP engine. This car is equipped with a four speed transmission, and factory side pipes! Unlike many color-change cars, this Corvette is trim-tag-correct Monaco Orange and Black! This car is in excellent mechanically sound condition. The rear suspension, including trailing arms have been rebuilt. The car is tight, and runs and drives excellent. The body, frame, and other areas of concern on most collector cars of this era are of no concern on this vehicle. The frame is devoid of any issues, rust, or damage. The body fitment is excellent, with no evidence of accidents, poor patch work, etc. The bonding strips are in all four corners of the car, indicating that the car is a no-hit, original panel Corvette. The doors, hood, headlights, etc all align, fit, and close as expected, and much better than many steel bumper Vettes you will find, even some recently restored ones! The paint is likely in excess of 20 years old, but still shines and presents itself very well. It's not a 100 point perfect paint job, but it's excellent for a driver, or better. There is minor checking in the paint, normal with paint of this age/and or fiberglass cars. This is not noticable outside in sunlight, but can be seen inside under lighting. I truthfully think the paint is too nice to consider repainting, but that's ultimately the next owners decision. The chrome and trim is all in excellent condition. The interior appears to be a great combination of super nice original componentry, and new replacement parts. Everything is in EXCELLENT condition in the interior. A new black convertible top has been purchased and is included and will be professionally installed before the car is shipped. If you do not need it installed, it will just be included with the sale of the vehicle and you can install it yourself, and I will credit some money back for doing it yourself. I should have this completed in the next week or so, however. The engine compartment has been correctly detailed and all proper componentry is in place. The engine runs great/smooth, doesn't smoke. The mileage shows 61K, and it's believed to be accurate based off the title history. If you are looking for one heck of a nice steel-bumper era Corvette Convertible, here's an excellent opportunity for a collectible car that you can drive and enjoy and not have $35-$40K in it. Here's your chance at a nice steel-bumper CONVERTIBLE for the same price many folks want for nice driver-grade steel bumper COUPE! I have been a licensed collector car dealer in Ohio for over 20 years, and I describe my cars fairly and accurately. The car is in GAlena, Ohio, approximately 20 mins northeast of Columbus Ohio. 61,298 miles from the odometer. Color codes from the trim plate. Assembly date is M15. BiN $25,900. November 6, 2015. |
