Car history:
2) This car is a three year project, I have put every thing new in this car. I have had the steering colum completey rebuilt all gauges done including the clock, the carpet was hand sewed and installed in the car. The suspension is completely brand new including the rear end. It has foose wheels,new tires. The paint took ten months to do it was completey striped down to the fiberglass. Basic this car was a frame off, except it was only raised off the frame to put the new frame bushings in but everything has been replaced from gas tank to light bulbs, wiring, glass, the works. I also put in a new vintage air system. The engine is a 383 strocker with aluminum heads MSD ignition. There is so much more to this car, no detail was over looked. I bought the car to restore. There was no rust on the car, it had all the option I was looking for. When I bought the car, I was not looking for a numbers car. As far as if the car was worth more then than now, it's worth a lot more now just of the money, time and the looks. This car is well put together and would make a nice car to drive and take to car shows.
When I started restoring the car three years ago, it was in fair shape. You can see by the pictures what the car looks like. I know pictures can be missleading but this car is perfect. I just finished it three weeks ago (May 2010), it's got three hundred miles on it. It drives out perfect, handles great. I found no problems with it, if I did I would have fix them. As far as what the car's worth, three years ago; I started restoring and put sixtyfive thousand dollars into it plus my labor, you will have to decide what it's worth to you.
Question to the owner: "Did you change the tachometer?", Answer: "No I had it rebuilt". 314 miles from the odometer. June 16, 2010.
1) 1969 Chevrolet Corvette T-Top Stingray. 383ci 400+HP with TH400 automatic transmission. I have invested a lot of time and money in this car.
* New complete polyurethane front-end rebuild kit with new bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends, sway bar end links and idler arm,
* New Power- steering cylinder, actuator, and fluid lines
* New stainless-steel sleeved calipers all the way around, new rotors, pads and brake lines
* New power booster and master cylinder
* Professionally re-built 383ci Eagle Stroker with forged steel internally balanced crank, forged I-beam rods, forged SRP aluminum pistons, Comp Cams 286 Magnum cam and lifters, Dart Pro-1 200cc aluminum heads, Crane Cams hardened push rods, Comp Cams Pro-Magnum roller rockers, Edelbrock Torker II intake, Edelbrock 750 carb, Dynomax Cerma-coat headers, and MSD Tach-drive distributor with Digital 6 control box. The motor has less than 1,000 miles since rebuild
* Hughes 3,000 Stall and 4.11 gear set
* Original spare tire
* Be-Cool dual fan aluminum radiator
* Gas tank and sending unit replaced 2 years ago.
* New seat covers,
* The original engine was a 350 c.in, 350 HP, 380 lb.ft Torque, 11.00:1 (Note from the Webmaster: Picture taken by the next owner of the Tachometer indicates otherwise: 350/300) compression ratio engine.
Everything in the car works, including the fiber-optics, except the ammeter and clock. This is an A/C car but the previous owner removed it but I still have the compressor. I also have the original exhaust manifolds, intake manifolds, distributor, radiator shroud and car cover. I have a 3'x2' oil painting of the car, which will go to the successful bidder. The car has always been garaged. Absolutely no rust. The paint is not new but is a great looking 10-footer and gets all the looks going down the road or at the local cruise night. The body is in excellent shape for the model year. There are two very small (2-3 inch) stress cracks in the paint on the front fenders. It’s a real fun car with more than enough power to spare. With a little work this will be a gorgeous cruiser. Colors from the owner. October 8, 2008.
