Exterior
The dark red exterior is in presentable driver condition. The paint has decent gloss and smooth finish. The wheels are in flawless condition with a prefect finish and absolutely no curb rash. There are no major imperfections that have been intentionally excluded from the photos. The paintjob has some age and blemishes, which is evident in the photos. I have done my best to accurately and objectively photograph the car and show the flaws, but some are too small or cannot be picked up by the camera. One should really view the car in person to get the best and most accurate idea of what the car really looks like. For the most part however, the car looks in person as it does in the photos. As one can see in the photos it appears as if the hood as been repainted. This Corvette has absolutely NO RUST ISSUES. The frame is totally solid with no rust in front of the rear tire and I have seen no evidence of corrosion around the windshield, which are the most notorious areas for rust on a C3 Corvette.
Please note that all of the glass on this Corvette is date coded and original to the car as it predates the build date of July 22, 1977. Original glass is a good indication that the car has not been in a major accident and never sustained significant damage.
Interior
The Dark Brown Leather interior of the Corvette is in nice condition. The seats look in person just as they do in the photos with some usual wear on the drivers side in the typical area. Please note that these are the original seats, not some cheap aftermarket replacement. The carpet throughout the car is also in "like new" condition with no rips, stains, or any signs of wear. This includes the rear carpet, which is often neglected. The console and dash are in great condition with no cracks, fading, or sun damage. The door panels are in good shape with one small crack on the passenger side where your elbow would touch. As you can seen in the photos it is not very noticeable. The original pedal pads are not excessively worn, and, as one can see from the photos, show normal wear for a car with this mileage. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma whatsoever. The original jack and jack handle are still with the car stowed correctly behind the passenger seat. The t-top storage bags are also included with the car. Corvette interiors are not known to wear well and the good condition of this original interior is a testament to the meticulous care this car has received throughout it's life.
Mechanical
This car seems to be in good mechanical condition. According to the previous owner the engine was just rebuilt this year and has seen limited use since. The car starts right away every time, idles well, runs well. The car drives great, especially with the Gymkhana suspension package; it is smooth on the road and at highway speeds. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. The transmission shifts smoothly throughout the power band. Also, the engine compartment is nicely detailed as one can see in the photos. This Corvette has plenty of power and is very fast. While driving this car on short highway runs, about 15 miles, in the 100+ degree temps we have recently experienced here in the Midwest it always ran hot, but never overheated or went into the red on the gauge. The horn works as do the headlights, fan for the heater and a/c, all gauges (with the obvious exception of the clock), wipers, lights, power windows. The a/c seems to work and the compressor clicks on, but it sporadic. The vacuum for the headlights works as both lights pop up with the headlight switch or override switch as they should. The only item I am aware of on the car that does not work is the cruise control. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the t-tops out on a beautiful day.
Overall Condition
Overall, this 1977 Corvette is in great driver condition. This car is a great value and we have priced it to sell. This car turns heads and gets ton of attentions wherever it goes. Numbers matching is extremely important in Corvette pricing. The value of the C3 body style cars has gone up dramatically in the past few years. They are all solid investments for a collector. One could drive and enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.
