| Car history: |
This is a 1976 Chevrolet Corvette L-48 Stingray with t-tops. It has a 350 motor and a manual transmission. I have no title for this vehicle but I do have a full signed bill of sale. I purchased this vehicle from a guy who lives in California. The vehicle was being stored next door to a friend of mine's house. I asked about the vehicle and she told me that her uncle used to live with her and it was his car. He had previously had a drug problem and that's why he was staying with her. That's when I offered to buy the vehicle from him. So she sent a bill of sale to him which he signed and gave her permission to sell the car to me, she also signed as well. I purchased the vehicle with the intentions of getting the title sent to me upon him recieving the money. This never happened. She's tried to contact him several times and now have come to believe that he had taken the money and relapsed on drugs. I had a vehicle search of the Corvette over the phone from the DMV and it came back clean and in his name. So anyone who purchases this vehicle will have a bill of sale from me and a copy of the previous bill of sale. As of now I'm selling the car WITH THE INTENTIONS THAT THERE IS NO TITLE FOR THE VEHICLE AND I'M SELLING IT FOR PARTS!!! Now I will describle the vehicle to the best of my ability. The motor and transmission rear end are perfect in the vehicle. I drove the vehicle down the road about two miles and it had lots of power and shifted perfectly. Now the car is not driveable because when I was driving the car the brakes were soft and I had a little bit of brakes just enough to stop the car, now the car has no brakes at all. The emergency brake works somewhat to stop the vehicle to be moved around but I wouldn't trust it very much. As far as the rest of the car it seems to be in fair condition. There is a small crack in the front left of the hood and front bumper. It appears he had put a new alternator, plugs and wires on the motor. I had recently installed the fan, adjusted the hood so it closes completely and reattached some interior panels. The rims appear to look perfect in the pictures, but they're not. When you look up close to them they have some small pitting. Three of the tires are good and one has funny looking tread and though it were driven on a low tire. I know nothing much about these Corvettes. I have had many people look at the vehicle and a couple of them had told me that driver and passenger floor boards are weak. Everything in the interior works in the car, gauges, heater, fan, lights, etc. I had previously bought this for my fiance as a birthday gift over the winter, but I don't have the time to mess with the car anymore. If you had another vehicle you are restoring this car would be perfect for parts, especially the motor and transmission. I know that they are worth a bit on there own. I put a new battery in the car and this car starts up first turn of the key. There will be no disappointment in how the motor runs. The passenger door does not latch. I have a bungee cord holding it shut. He must of been messing with it cause I can't seem to get it to adjust. The interior parts are cracked. One is missing behind the seats, and some the of the carpet is attached from the edges. The door panels have some cracking in them too. And if you noticed the front headlights have a conversion set up. The rear tail lights do not turn on.
