| Car history: |
Here I have for sale a beautiful 1978 Corvette Silver Anniversary (verified code paint 13u/07m) with the Oyster Leather interior (verified interior code 122) with 63,468 miles on the body. The car is in excellent exterior shape. The paint is glossy and the anniversary paint striping is in excellent condition. There is no body damage to the car that is visible and all of the panels look straight and original, with the exception of the hood which is required for clearance of the 502. Although I believe the hood is a L-88 replica which is an actual hood that came on early big block c-3s. The car has the correct slotted mag wheels that came standard on the silver anniversary.
There were 15,283 Corvettes made with the anniversary paint scheme in 1978. This was the first year of the fastback design that lasted thru 1982 the end of the C3 Corvette body style. The retractable sun shade in the cargo area is in good condition and working. The headlights are functioning correctly, as are the other lights.
The best part of this car is that is has had the 1978 175 hp 350 removed and a GM Performance 502 Big Block crate engine put in it. The crate motor came as a 550 horsepower with 620ftlb of torque. Components that are known in the engine are:
Eagle 4340 crank with clevite bearings with arp main bolts 4340 h beam connecting rods with arp rod bolts Mahle pistons Custom race ground hydra cam 3 piece double roller chain set Stainless valves intake/exhaust High volume oil pump Chromoly pushrods
The crate motor was put in the car at about 52,000 miles and now has about 11,000 miles on it. It is mated to a turbo 350 that has a large stall converter in it. I would say it is probably somewhere in the neighborhood of 2800 to 3000 stall. Engine has a very healthy cam that gives the car a big block rumble like no other. The engine swap was done very well with correct early C3 big block headers and electric exhaust cutouts. This engine swap was done very well and no issues can be found with it. It looks as though it is factory original. Engine has aluminum v belt pulleys, and has an aluminum 4 core radiator with electric temperature controlled fan. This was an a/c car but the condenser is not on it although it appears that the big block bracket for it is there. The engine by itself cost over $10,000.00 The car shows very very well. The interior is in excellent condition. There is no stress cracks on the exterior that can be found. It is super clean car. It runs and drives very well. VERRRRRRRRRRRRYYYYYYYYY FAAAAAAAAAST. Unreal sound. It has factory power windows It has electric exhaust cut outs with toggle switch in the cabin It has Holley Blue electric fuel pump New brakes Tires have plenty of tread Even the dome lights work in this car!! This is a MUST see car... it is in superior condition Optima Red Top battery
