Originally assembled on August 14, 1978, this 1978 Corvette Silver Anniversary L82 is in very original condition, coming with a TON of documentation. Although we have no solid proof of this car's mileage, there is no doubt in our mind that the 35,355 miles currently showing on the odometer are original, based on the presence and overall condition of original parts. This car's paint and decals appear to be original, and are in overall good condition with a nice shine. As documented by this car's original window sticker, this is one of just 972 '78 Corvettes with factory glass t-tops! Although the original date coded units are gone, the LOF replacements are in very good to excellent condition, looking to be recent, with soft and excellent condition perimeter trim. All other exterior glass on this car shows a correct date code. Exterior door handles appear to be original, and are in overall good condition with no pitting or rubbing issues. Weatherstripping and taillights look to be original as well. Slotted aluminum wheels are in good condition, wearing what look to be original center caps. Tires are correct style Goodyear Eagle GT outlined white letter, which have been re- treaded at some point. We STRONGLY recommend replacing these tires as the sidewalls and tread are separating. The interior of this 1978 Corvette Silver Anniversary L-82 is nearly all original as well, showing original seat covers in overall good condition with no rips or tears. Dash is in very good condition with no cracks or waves, and the door panels are in good to very good condition. Center console is in very good condition, as are the gauges, which show minimal fading and clear lenses. Clock is working at the time of this writeup. Carpet appears to be original as well, and is in good to very good condition with no apparent rotting, wear, or fading. Believe it or not, the SUPER RARE correct original floor mats are still in place!! A modified 1981-82 ETR AM/FM/8 track stereo has been added to this car, with an auxiliary input installed in place of the 8 track mechanism. The original correct 8 track stereo is included with this car as well. Correct original GM seatbelts are in place, and are in very good condition. Correct original t-top bags and t-top strap are also present. The numbers matching engine in this 1978 Corvette Silver Anniversary L-82 shows original casting date August 10, 1978, and final assembly date August 11, 1978. Correct air cleaner, ignition shielding, intake manifold, valve covers, carburetor, alternator, exhaust manifolds, a/c compressor, and radiator hoses are all in place, and the engine compartment looks to be very much untouched and original other than the absence of the air pump and EGR valve. Underhood light is present and working. Please note that the air conditioning is not blowing cold at this time. Documentation consists of the original window sticker, copy of original build sheet, original bill of sale, original new car delivery inspection checklists, original buyer's order, copy of original title, brochures, advertisements, full set of GM/Helm's 1978 repair manuals, 1953-69 GM Corvette accessories manual, 1978- 79 NCRS judging manual, Mid America assembly manuals, reproduction owner's manual, and records since 1988.
