| Car history: |
The highly optioned Monza Red on Black Coupe. The red on black color combination is super sharp and desirable. The car came from the factory as a 350/350hp, but the engine has since been replaced. This car has always received compliments whenever I have driven it. Exterior: The Monza Red exterior paint is in great driver condition. This car is in its original color as indicated by the trim pad number, 974. There are no major scratches or chips in the paint that are not pictured. The paint’s finish has a nice gloss. The car was painted approximately 15 to 20 years ago. Often many corvettes will have particularly chipped up front ends, this car does not. There are some small blemishes and spots in the paint showing old body work that were too small to show in photos, but nothing that can been seen from 5 feet away. The chrome bumpers are in overall very nice condition for a driver and show very well. The tires are nearly brand new. The wheels are in excellent condition. This car also has the added benefit of a factory dealer installed luggage rack with is very desirable. The glass tops are a nice added feature. The sidepipes are an excellent compliment and always draw attention. Interior: The Black interior of the corvette is in great condition. This car is an original black vinyl car as indicated by the trim pad. The seats look almost brand new with now wear at all. There is absolutely no wear in the driver seat where the driver gets in and out of the car. The carpet is also in nice condition with no rips, holes, or stains. The dash and center console look great and have no tears, cracks, or sun damage. The stock original radio actually works pretty well and gets decent reception. Mechanical: This Corvette is in fine mechanical condition. The motor has been replaced. It starts up quickly, runs well, idles well, and does not smoke at all. This Corvette has plenty of power, it is very fast especially with its low rear end gear. The transmission is a Muncie 4 speed and the clutch makes no noise and feels great. This car is very much fun to drive, especially with the 4-speed. The brakes are powerful and stop straight. The headlights pop up quickly with no effort or binding what so ever. The frame is solid with no rust issue as well as the area around the "A" pillar which is pictured. There are some items on the car that do not work. These included: the clock, windshield wipers, the fiber optic light monitoring system, the t-tops leak, oil pressure gauge, temp gauge, rear turn signal lights, and the parking brake is weak. In my attempt to be totally honest, that is literally everything on the car that I know to be any type of issue. Overall: The overall condition of the 1969 Corvette is in great condition for a driver, both the exterior and interior. Also, this car does have a "rebuilt" title. Photos of the car from when the car was rebuilt are included here. When the car was titled that way the value of chrome bumper Corvettes, especially 69's, had not yet achieved the level to which it has risen today. The car must be totaled by an insurance company to get a rebuilt title. The repair was done so long ago that the value of the car was not high enough at the time to be 125% of the cost of repair. As you can see by the photos, the damage was minor and if it were to have happened today the car would obviously not have been totaled. The 1969 model year is the star of the chrome bumper years, the 1963-1967 cars have hit their peak and are coming down, this model year is beyond doubt one of the most sound and secure ventures one could make into the Corvette market. It is part of the American dream to own a Corvette. The Corvette always turns heads and is admired by every car enthusiast. Colors from the owner. 118,275 miles. July 16, 2008. |
