| You are looking at a nice 1974 Corvette convertible. This C3 was the 2nd to last of the convertibles before GM reintroduced them in the late 80s. This Vette has retained its original engine and transmission, both in good condition. I was told the mileage was original by previous owner, but I don't believe that for what that's worth. It has a new paint job, new carpet and is in overall good condition on the inside. All lights work and the car has newer calipers, brakes, starter and flywheel and timing chain. It will still need TLC to make it a perfect car, but it is in overall good condition as it sits. Exterior wise, the car has a new paint job in its original bright yellow color. The paint looks nice, and the body straight. It's not a show car, so please keep that in mind. If you are looking for something to drive, than it may be for you. The car receives compliments everywhere it goes. It has a nice set of rally wheels with original GM center caps and beauty rings. The tires are in excellent condition with over 99% tread remaining. It will need a new convertible top as the current top was a home made job and should be replaced. I am including a brand new top to go with the car at my asking price. Current top will however keep the rain out and the sun off your head. The frame and convertible top mechanism is in great shape. Top operation is good, and top goes up and down easily. There is no hard top. Interior wise, it is in overall good shape, but could use some more TLC in this department to make it perfect. The door panels are original and in fair shape with some cracking on the corners, fairly common. This car came with telescopic and tilt steering column. The carpeting up front is new and the rear portion is original and in good shape. Rear storage doors open and close fine. The seats don't have any rips and are in fair shape, could use new covers and padding in my opinion. It has a new plastic center console armrest. The climate control is not working, but is all there. Speedometer needs a new cable, and I can have this installed. Tachometer is not working. All gauges in center cluster work including, temp, oil pressure, fuel level, and volt meter. The clock however does not work. It has a new battery in the rear hatch. The horn and wipers are not working. The Sony radio works and sounds good. Mechanically, the car has it's original matching number engine. I had the engine tuned up and it runs excellent. I had a new timing belt/chain added, new flywheel and starter installed. It has newer calipers all around with new pads. The brakes are a bit grippy at low speeds but work well. E-brake works as well. Tires are brand new. No noises from the rear end at all. Battery is new. The transmission is in good shape with no issues. I had a main power steering line replaced and a pitman arm replaced as well. It steers and handles well. I have had the car on the lift and inspected in for any damage and did not see any signs of frame damage and there in no rust. The body is straight from what I can see underneath. It does have a 75 rear bumper cover. I think the car will need some more TLC on these small items but you can drive it as is. The A/C does not work, although the compressor is there and the system is complete. The climate control does not seems to be working, so therefore the heater and fan does not work. It does need some minor things to finish it up, all of which can be done while driving and enjoying the car. Summer is still here. 39641 miles. September 9, 2010. |
