Car history:
This is a rare, non-power, 4 speed car with deluxe interior. This is a very low mileage survivor that has just finished a complete frame-on restoration. This restoration took over 1 1/2 years and hundreds of hours to complete and was done for the love of the car not for the profit. Everything on this car from the frame up is either new or reconditioned to near new condition. It was completely stripped of all parts, block sanded, by hand, down to the fiberglass, professionally repainted in the correct Elkhart Green Metallic with 2-stage paint and reassembled, piece by piece according to the licensed GM 1972 Corvette Assembly Manual, and with a CD of hundreds of pictures taken at various stages of the restoration. The interior was completely stripped and gutted of everything but the steering wheel. New parts include: carpet, carpet padding, seat padding, seat covers, seat hardware, door panels, door hardware, window hardware, window felts, interior windshield molding, dash pad, all gauge lights, gauge lenses, radio delete plate, shift knob, rear cargo and battery compartment doors and trim, and a complete weather stripping kit, including all door, window, and t-top weather strips. Heck the clock even works and keeps almost exact time! T-Tops were completely disassembled and reconditioned to like new condition with new hardware and weather stripping. Doors were removed and all hardware and windows were removed and reconditioned to like new before re-assembly. All glass is original and all the trim is original except for the rear bumpers and door handles which were replaced because the old ones were pitted. The engine bay was completely stripped and redone to the assembly manual's specifications. It literally looks like a color version of the assembly manual. The drive train is all number's matching and the motor was completely rebuilt to as close to factory specs as possible with the exception of a little bit of cam and bore that puts it very close to 300 hp. All hoses and vacuum lines were replaced with factory replacement parts and correct GM hoses. Entire engine wiring harness was removed and replaced with factory replacement. It has a brand new factory replacement carburator, original intake manifold and heads, correct exhaust manifolds, original tach drive distributor, correct ignition shielding and air cleaner assembly. Headlights and windshield wiper door both work like new. Brand new wiper motor and washer motor with all new and correct washer lines. The windshield washers even work! The wiper switch sometimes does not switch off so I will be ordering one of those this week. The frame on the car is rock solid and in excellent condition through out. Due to the fact that I restored this car to be driven, the underside was basically left in its original and un-restored condition. The bird cage area is rock solid and the entire frame has minimal surface rust. Absolutely NO ROT whatsoever. I left this in this state so that this car could be driven without fear of ruining a perfectly restored undersided. If the frame would have been removed and restored, this would be a trailer queen, museum piece. The brakes, u-joints, ball joints, tie rods, and all mechanicals are all in solid condition. Trailing arms/bushings and rear bearings were recently replaced and the rear spring is brand new. All four tires are brand new BFGoodrich P225/70-15's mounted on the original 15 x 8 rims. This car looks, feels, drives, and even smells like a new car inside and out. The interior actually smells like a saddle shop! The car, as it sits, including the motor, paint, interior, and tires, has less than 30 miles on it, having only driven it around the streets of my neighborhood since it was put together. It literally feels like driving a new 72 Vette! Colors from the trim plate. Built date is A19. Updated July 3, 2009.
