2) WARNING: PRESENT OWNER IS LOOKING TO GET IN TOUCH WITH ORIGINAL OWNER. PLEASE CONTACT HIM OR WEBMASTER TO DO SO. THANKS A LOT.

1) 1970 Corvette coupe (T Top) 454 LS5. This 1970 Corvette was purchased by my dad on Feb. 18 1979 from the original owner in Pacific Palasades, California with 54,000 miles on it. My dad was 51 years old then. He paid $2000.00 for it. (I guess that was the going price for a 9 year old Corvette in perfect condition). He drove the car to his home in Las Vegas, Nevada in Feb. 1979 and it has never been out of Las Vegas since. He drove the car daily for 5 years in Las Vegas and then parked it in his garage. The milage was 76,000. My dad gave me this car in 1984 and I left it in his garage. I bought a house in Las Vegas in 1988 and I drove the car to my house and I parked it in my covered carport in my backyard in 1988. I removed the battery and put a car cover on the car. THIS WAS THE LAST TIME THIS CAR WAS EVER DRIVEN. THIS CAR HAS NEVER BEEN STARTED SINCE THAT DAY IN 1988 WHEN I PARKED IT. In 2003 I sold the house and had AAA tow the car to my warehouse, just 1/2 mile away and it sat indoors for the next 5 years.
This car ran and drove fine the day it was parked in 1988, everything worked on the car and the A/C blew cold. This was a great car and a I drove this corvette a lot from 1979 to 1984. It was very fast and would light up the rear tires at a stop light with a very little push of the gas peddle. This Corvette sits exactly the same as it was when my dad bought it in 1979, with the same tires and wheels on it. I have the pictures I took in May 1979, and as you can see, nothing is different, not even the same tires that were on the car in 1979. The original owner said he painted the car Pearl White and put on Corvette pace car wheels in 1978. My dad loved the look in 1979 when he bought it and never changed it. This car really did look nice in Pearl White with that pinstripping. My dad put the sheepskins on the car in 1979. My dad bought this car because he liked it. He was never a car guy and never knew what numbers matching or desireable options were. He didn't even know what Big Block meant, he always owned Cadillacs. This was his first sports car.
Now that you know the history for the last 29 years, Let me tell you in my opinion what I have here: 1970 Corvette Coupe VIN# 193470S414945, LS-5 454 cubic inch 390 Hp, 500 Lbs.-Ft. of Torque STOCK looks like original #'s matching, Turbo 400 Automatic, Posi Traction rear end, Power Steering, Power Brakes (4 wheel disc), Power Windows, Factory AC, Removeable T Tops, Tilt Telescopic Wheel,
AM FM Radio, seems like it's fully loaded and I'm sure it has more factory options than I have listed. I remember the original owner saying it was Cortez Silver when new. I felt the car was all original the day my dad bought it in 1979 except for Paint, Wheels & Tires. Sorry about the dust on the engine and the cob webs underneath the car. It is exactly as it was when parked in 1984. The engine would look great if were just steam cleaned. When I opened the doors I found inside the original owners manual and the Bill of sale from 1979 also the receipt my dad wrote me when he gave me the car in 1984, the Nevada smog cert from 1979 showing 54,000 miles on the car, and some notes I wrote when I serviced the car in the 80's. I don't have the original window sticker or bill of sale from 1970 because my dad never asked for them when he bought it. The Tank Sticker may very well be on top of the Gas Tank. This car has always been in a dry climate and has never been restored. I don't want to try to start it because I don't want to harm the engine. I believe it to be a 76,000 mile 2 owner car when my dad gave it to me in 1984. 1970 was a great year for Corvette and the 454 makes it even better. ALL 1970 CORVETTES HAD POSITRACTION AND TINTED GLASS. THIS CAR APEARS TO HAVE THE ORIGINAL ENGINE AS THE STAMP ON IT SAYS: S414945 and the engine code looks like CGW there are also some other #'s to the left of the CGW. Colors from the trim plate. 76,000 miles. February 3, 2008.
