| Car history: |
Rare 4-speed (only 14% of the 40,606 cars built were 4-speeds) in desirable silver on red leather (original colors). The car received one high quality repaint when the original lacquer silver finish lost its shine as most did in the early 1980's. Paint code 13L (silver metallic laquer, one of 2,590 built) and interior trim code 752 (medium red leather) are on the trim tag. This car was one of the last Corvettes built in the St. Louis Corvette plant (July 24, 1981)
Factory options include K35 (cruise control) L81 (engine) MM4 (4-speed) N90 (aluminum wheels) C49 (rear window defogger).
Engine code, ZDA, Borg-Warner wide ratio transmission code CC, differential code 0K 2:72 posi, cylinder head casting 462624, aluminum intake manifold casting number 14033058, factory stainless tubular headers left side 14037671-W right side 14037672-W. Number matching original engine, transmission, rear.
Some notable things about this car: All of the body panels are original. Dated original wheels. Rust and damage free frame with factory exhaust and catalytic converter shielding still in place, factory chalk marks still showing. Windshield pillars and header are excellent and original as is the radiator support. Excellent interior, no cracks or fading in the dash, door panels or seats. Interior plastic is not faded and the silver accent striping around the console and bezels still shines. The leather steering wheel is in excellent condition as are the dated seat belts. Original jack and spare. Includes original owners manual and original sales literature.
The car has always been collector owned, driven only in nice weather and garaged. It was never used for primary transportation. The suspension is tight and the car runs and handles as new. There are no rattles with this car.
The engine runs smoothly with no issues what-so-ever. The power windows and headlight buckets operate as they should. The chassis is dry underneath both when the car is used and after sitting for long periods of time. The heat blows hot and the A/C is ice cold. All gauges are in excellent condition and fully operational, even the clock. The interior lighting and door buzzers work as new. The only thing not working on the car is the cruise control.
The entire car has been gone through, serviced, the fluids changed, greased and detailed. The A/C was converted to R134 at a cost of $1,500. It needs nothing. The interior is spotless and the seats are regularly treated with leather conditioner. Even the weather stripping and rubber is regularly treated to prevent drying. The door panels and seats are extremely clean. What appears to be discoloration in the photos are shadows. Please call for more information or to schedule an appointment to see the car 443-386-6170.
