1968 CHEVROLET CORVETTE BIG BLOCK ROADSTER-CONVERTIBLE. This car is a Factory Original 427/435 car with a non-matching rebuilt 454 engine with fewer than 20,000 miles on it. This absolutely beautiful original California classic Chevrolet Corvette Roadster has just completed a 10 month frame-on restoration. The body was stripped down to the fiberglass and all body parts were completely disassembled and reassembled. The body painted with factory original British Green color code 983. The car has a brand new black convertible top with inner pads and brand new factory original black interior and dash. Prior to this recent expensive restoration, thousands of dollars were spent on this car. It previously had all new front suspension, brakes, shocks, gas tank, radiator work done. This car looks and runs great! This car is a confirmed original factory 427 435/ 3-deuce car with non matching rebuilt 454, 1970 or 1971 Corvette engine with 390 or 365/425 HP with less than 20,000 miles on it. The car has a 4 speed manual M-21 transmission which shifts and works perfectly. The odometer shows 82,000 original miles on it. The car was just serviced at Corvette Connection Service in San Jose California. CCS is one of Northern California’s premiere Corvette Service Specialist. According CCS, “The DIFF numbers of this car are AU= 3.36 ratio. HD. 427. Correct and Original for this car. Also checked the tach red line. 6500 RPM. = 427 CU IN. 435 HP. Engine in car is from a 454 CU In from a 1970/71 either 390 HP or 365/425 HP Corvette. Casting 3963512. Original for 1968 427-435 HP 3916321”. In this restoration, the majority of parts on this car have been replaced and there are too many new parts to mention. For example, all new weather stripping was installed on the doors, door pillars, convertible top, hardtop and decklid. The majority of body chrome, door sills, door handles and related door parts, body trim, emblems, and gaskets were replaced with new or nice condition parts as needed. Factory original Astro Ventilation windows were installed. All electrical works except for the clock and it has a telescoping steering wheel. What’s also cool is that the car has the original classic California blue plates. The car is in very nice condition and very minor things are needed to make this a perfect car, show class car. The exterior body wet sanded and buffed a few days ago and it is shiny and nice. Interior and engine compartment was also just detailed. There are a couple imperfections on the paint due to the recent buffing job. These areas do not detract from the nice paint job. I have included as much detail as possible in my description so that the new buyer can make the right decision.
