| Car history: |
| All numbers match: engine and transmission, exterior color [973] and interior trim [407] codes. This is a real red/red corvette. The engine is a 350CI, 200HP net rating [270HP gross ratings, same engine ratings as 1971] and the engine code is CKW [350ci, 200HP, manual transmission]. All the glass is original [Astro Ventilation]. The wheels are the factory rally wheels with center caps and chrome rings. Factory side exhaust is installed and sounds nice. The vette also has the factory alarm, positraction rear and removable rear window. This is the last year for the removable rear window and chrome front & rear bumpers. The A/C system is completely intact but is currently inoperable. Never used A/C since there is plenty of air flow with the T-Tops off and the rear window removed. New Stainless Steel calipers [O-ring seal], new brake hoses, new trailing arm brake lines and new brake pads have been installed on all 4 wheels along with 4 new tires [700, A, B ratings]. A new battery and remanufactured Quadrajet carburetor [correct model number for this 72 corvette] were installed last summer. The engine was recently tuned up including wires and new heater hoses and thermostat. I have the original owner's manual and the Protect-O-Plate [POP]. I have black vinyl covers for the T-Tops. I also have about 1 inch of receipts from prior owners dating back to the 80s. Lights, wipers, speedometer, tachometer, clock, temp, oil gauges work. The battery [amp meter] does not work. The original AM/FM radio is installed and works but I have the radio fuse pulled since it drains the battery. The paint is ~8 out of 10. There are some road/stone nicks and scratches which have been touched up. Overall the paint shines and looks very nice. The rear, driver's side bumper has some of the chrome plating missing on the bottom side. This vette stops straight, has a smooth idle and sounds nice. This is a very original, unmolested corvette. 108,000 miles. August 17, 2009. |
