06/23/2014 1979 Black Duntov Turbo Corvette. Here is a chance to own a very rare custom Corvette!!! This Corvette was built by ACI and is number 24 in a series rumored to be 27 to 37 cars. I believe only 26 had number plates. If you google 1980 Duntov turbo, you will come across different articles that all have different production numbers. I did talk to a couple of guys at ACI, who helped build these cars, they said that there were only about 33 built. You just do not see these cars very often. Most of these cars are white with a red interior. This one is a beautiful black on black. I believe that it has been re-painted, but this one came from the factory black on black. I had the side decals custom made. They are a little bigger than the originals by looking at pic's of other cars in mags, but they look good. I also replaced the top. This is a 1979 model, most of these cars started as 1980 or 1981 models, which makes this car even rarer. It will turn heads everywhere you go. The car has a Ray-Jay turbocharged L48 350, ACI says this car has an adjustible wastegate, custom interior with digital gauges and a custom convertible conversion. It is six inches wider than a regular 1980 Corvette, and has a wing, Epsilon modular wheels, 15x10 inches front/15x11 inches rear and a Kenwood head unit with Aux plug for mp3 player. Alpine amp and crossover. This car is not perfect, it has been driven. The milage on the car reads less than 10,000. It could use a front end rebuild, it has a lot of worn parts. I have only owned this car a little over three years. When I bought this car I did not have a clue what it was. I was going to put a LS motor in it to just have a fun head turner. I tried to research these cars on the net without too much luck. I called ACI and they confirmed that this car was genuine. The first thing they asked me was if the car was still black, and they told me that this car was number 24 in the series. They had some records on this car, but could not send me any paperwork. This car is a hard to find collectors item. If you have been looking for something that no one else has, This is it! Even the most complete Corvette collection probably doesn't have one of these! Some of these pic's are from two years ago. The car is currently at the shop being serviced. The Good : This car turns heads everywhere and it is complete to the best of my knowledge with solid frame. Carb newly rebuilt and tune-up done. Ready to be restored or just driven. The kinda Bad. It has dings here and there i.e front bumper rear bumper etc, It needs a new front spoiler, It could use new carpet, The tach does not work, it does light up it just does not register a number, the top needs adjusting, It was replaced but the glue on the rear did not hold up and it's coming apart. The antenna will go up but not down, it is missing an original wheel center cap, it has a different one on it. I don't know if the AC works it is R-12 and I never used it. The steering wheel is bent a little and the drivers seat has a tear in it.
