SELLER REMARKS
This 1972 Corvette is what the Stingray became when it grew up. The '60s were
over, and by 1972, the Corvette had become a well-respected grand tourer with
great power, commendable handling, and a comfortable ride. With factory A/C, a
numbers-matching powertrain, and an unusual color combination, this one is also
a fairly smart investment.

Restored a few years ago, the lovely code 924 Pewter Metallic finish on this Stingray
is sophisticated and subtle, which helps this car establish its credentials as a first
class piece for long-distance cruising. There's no question that this was a well-
maintained and very clean 3-owner car, so the body needed very little work
before it was ready for paint. So it was stripped and two-stage urethane went on,
giving it a glow that the original designers surely dreamed of, but never achieved
with the paint technology of the time. I mean, this car looks amazing. And it was a
thorough, frame-off job, too, not just a mask and spray quickie. All the jambs and
sills have been thoroughly refinished, and only excellent original or fresh reproduction
badges and chrome were reinstalled. As Corvette fans know, '72 was the last year
for chrome bumpers front and rear, so these were refinished and reinstalled, too.

That frame-off restoration included the all-new, correct code 400 black vinyl interior.
Door panels, carpets, and even the dash pad are excellent, despite the T-tops
which let in plenty of sun, and they took their time to install everything so it fits
well with no wrinkles or bunching on the seams. New black carpets with matching
monogrammed floor mats were also included in the full makeover, giving this
Stingray a very factory-fresh look inside. This car is also loaded with options like
the aforementioned factory A/C with R134a refrigerant inside, an AM/FM radio,
power windows, and a tilt/telescoping wheel. Pull the body-colored T-tops and this
coupe is almost as breezy as a convertible, making it the ideal choice for driving.
You will, however, have to pack light, because C3 Corvettes are not known for
storage capacity, although there's new carpet under the rear deck, plus a pair of
useful storage compartments.

200 horsepower and 360 pounds of torque on tap in a 350 cubic inch V8 are plenty
to make this fantastic plastic sports car an absolute party to drive on the street.
The original engine was pulled and rebuilt not too long ago, so while the restoration
only has 1500 or so miles on it, there was no need to tear into the engine.
However, while it was apart, they detailed the engine bay to dress it up and give it
a very authentic appearance. From the chrome air cleaner with dual air inlets, to
the upgraded HEI ignition system, to the A6 A/C compressor, it will make you look
forward to checking the oil at a gas station and drawing a crowd. The TH400 3-
speed automatic transmission is built for performance and spins the original
independent rear end. Long-tube headers and a recent exhaust system sound
fantastic, and it rides on 15-inch Rallys with225/70/15 BFG radials at all four corners.

Documented with the original dealer invoice and Protect-O-Plate, this is a high-quality,
numbers-matching Corvette that definitely stands out, and not because it's bright red.
