BEAUTIFUL 1973 CORVETTE STINGRAY COUPE L-82 This car has been properly maintained its entire life and it shows! This is an all numbers matching, 350 turbo fire special L-82 motor. M21 close ratio 4-speed with posi and 64,000 documented miles. As if that wasn't enough, it's also equipped with t-tops, working air-conditioning, heater, working clock (yes it still works!) tilt- tele steering wheel, power windows, power brakes, power steering, 6-disk cd (no dash console cutting), tach, speedo, oil pressure, temp gauge, am-fm stereo radio and black factory deluxe leather interior. The lights work like they should as do with the wipers. Brakes are very good. They were upgraded to all stainless back in the 90's. Glass is all there, no chips or leaks. Have never noticed any leaking from the t-tops during car baths. E brake works fine. NYS inspected.
It has an amazing brilliant dark red pearl paint-job (originally elkhart green). This car is not a 20 footer or a 8-1/2 footer or whatever. It's a put your face right on the car footer :) I try to show any imperfections in the photo's. There is a clearcoat only scratch on the drivers t-top about 2 inches long and a pin head sized chip at the gas filler hole. There are absolutely no signs of this thing ever being green...ever. In my humble opinion, that's a good thing! Paint was very expensive and done right. That's not a scratch on the front of the car, just a little bug juice. I took those pics without a wash. Most of the pics were taken when car was a little dusty from having been driven a few times. Same goes for the interior needs a cleaning and vacuum. Sorry...
The car starts right up every time and runs fantastic. I drive it to work a day or two every week in the summer months during good weather. Has a very pleasing deep rumble and bark when you want it to. It also purrs like a kitten when you’re just cruising mello or doing about 65 mph at 2500 rpm. (dont have to yell to be heard) This original motor was balanced and blueprinted in the early 90's. I have receipts for all of this and tons of other work done to the car over the years. There are no ticks or knocks or pings of any kind. The motor runs like it was new. Very quiet and smooth. It rides on nice rally wheels, and nice tires, still with plenty of tread.
Car could use - new front carpet (carpet has a hole on drivers side floor where your heels go. Floor mat covers it), new drivers side power window motor needs to be installed (I have one already, comes with car) and it could use a rubber boot on the passenger side tie rod (worn out). The seatbelts are not blue. Just some wacky glare from the flash. They are black.
This rare Corvette was originally bought in Texas at Friendly Chevrolet Co. It has NO RUST OR ROT ON IT!!! All of the frame and floors and whatever else you are going to ask me about anyway are rot and rust free. Car is very dry and well kept. Always garaged obviously. I have the original window sticker from when the car was new. $1,537.00 in factory installed options and accessories. Base price before destination charge to Dallas was $5,634.50 and total purchase price was $7,283.50...pretty cool. I also have the original tank sticker! It is pretty tattered, torn and faded but you get the idea. Somehow the original owner knew that piece of paper would be important, because he copied it all down on a separate sheet, by hand, in pencil...I have that too!...very cool.
This Vette is very well documented with a detailed service record. Lots of receipts. I could go on and on but you get the idea... It's nice.
Do a little homework on this one. It is quite rare and a truly appreciating car. The combo of the L-82 option and the 4-speed is very rare, let alone one with A/C and all power options. How many are still alive? 73 was a one of a kind year as you know...
Any questions send to Tom at bigthinker@live.com and I will get back to you asap. Thanks again. |
