I bought this car on Ebay in 2004 for my wife. I had planned on painting it and doing some other cosmetic work for her to drive. The car is in good mechanical condition with a few fix-its. It has been garage kept since I bought it. In late 2004 I sold my business in California and moved to Texas and have not had the time to finish the car. The following are some of the 2004 seller's comments and mine: I can not verify all his info: Rust free California car, he bought it from the third owner of more than 25 years, the bumpers are in above average shape but do not retain their original luster. The car has its original Asto-Ventilation door glass but have been tinted. It has an L-88 hood. As far as the interior goes, the seats were redone in leather about a year prior to my buying. All guages work except the clock, the radio needs to be hooked up and the fiber optics are in place. The car has its original numbers matching engine and transmission, the engine has been rebuilt, the A/C sytem will need a new compressor and recharge. After having the car on the rack in my shop, it appears that the brake sytem has been completly redone, including new brake clipers, pads, hoses and rotors. The rear suspension has been rebuilt. I had to replace the master cylinder and battery, do to it sitting for so long. The carb might need some work also. Tires are in very good condition. Trim Tag info - Trim - 420 Paint - 980. Vin - 194379S735051. Engine Vin Stamp - 19S735051 V1029HZ. I just washed the car after sitting for 4+ years and took the pictures that you see. I drove it this morning, engine is tight, trans also but with main seal leak, temp guage does not appear to be working, head lights may need some attention. I did buy an AC compressor for it from Corvette America part #40936, which is included in the purchase. As I see it the engine is a 350ci - 300hp unit, in very good shape, it will need a tune up, but ran well this morning. This car is a good canadate for a driver, or someone that wants to take it to another step. 34,889 miles. June 6, 2009. |
