The two tone silver exterior is in beautiful driver condition. As one can see in the photos the finish has dazzling gloss and smooth finish. Often many Corvettes will have particularly chipped up front ends, this car does not. The underside of the front end, very fragile part of the car, is in great condition as evidenced by the photos. This Corvette came equipped with aluminum wheels, which are in excellent condition with a brilliant finish and absolutely no curb rash. There are no major imperfections that have been excluded from the photos. There are some small blemishes and touch ups that were much too small to show up in photos, but nothing that is really noticeable from ten feet away. This Corvette has absolutely NO rust issues. The frame is totally solid with no rust in front of the rear tire and I have seen no evidence of corrosion around the windshield.
The car looks just as good in person as it does in the photos.
Please note that all of the side glass on this Corvette is date coded and original to the car as it predates the build date of July 25, 1978. Original glass is a good indication that the car has not been in a major accident and never sustained significant damage.
The Mahogany interior of the Corvette is in magnificent condition. The seats look literally brand new with no rips, tears, or split seams. They are not worn in the typical areas such as where the driver gets in and out. The carpet is in nice condition as well with no stains, rips, or holes. This includes the rear carpet which is often neglected. The console is in great condition and fits correctly. The door panels are in great shape and unlike many Corvettes of this age, they fit well and tight to the door. The dash is not cracked or sun faded at all. This car has not been smoked in. There are no burn marks or aroma whatsoever. Corvette interiors are not known to wear well and the excellent condition of this interior is a testament to the meticulous care this car has received throughout it's life.
The interior looks just as good in person as it does in the photos.
This car is in awesome mechanical condition, there are no issues at all with this Corvette, and it is essentially 100 % "turn key." Everything on this car works including the a/c, cruise control, and clock, which are the most notorious common issues on this vintage Corvette. The car starts right away every time, runs well, and idles well. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. The car drives terrifically; it is very tight on the road and at highway speeds. There are no strange noises or vibrations. The transmission shifts smoothly. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. This Corvette has plenty of power and is very fast. Also, the catalytic converter has been removed and replaced with true dual exhaust system. Every option on this car works, horn, headlights, headlight override vacuum switch, all gauges (even the clock), all interior and exterior lights, power windows, wipers, etc. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with t-tops out on a beautiful day.
Overall this Corvette is in great condition. Special and Anniversary Edition Corvettes always draw a premium over their standard Corvette counterparts. In addition, this car is also optioned with a very rare color combination. Numbers matching and originality are extremely important in Corvette pricing, and as you can see this car very original and correct. The value of the late C3 body style cars has gone up dramatically in the past few years. They are all solid investments for a collector. Cars like this are the Barrett Jackson stars of the future. Someone could drive and enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price.
